Probably some kind of inflatable front splitter like on the current turbo. This is great stuff guys! Don't think in terms of ugly or attractive, think in terms of new functionalities.. that's what we should get excited about. This isn't a beautiful targa, it's a gt3 FFS!
Thats what I was thinking as well

Was reading in C&D article 8speed PDK2 makes room for battery/hybrid.

Doss this mean no manual-hybrids? All hybrids only PDK2??

GT3 is either not manual or not hybrid?

Looks like it and the RS are going to be the closest thing to racers for the street yet! Especially with active rear aero

The wing as pictured is emblematic of current F1 cars: Fugly. Function and appealing design don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I think the front wheels are 21" based on how small the brakes are 'portraying'.

Best Regards,
Dave

Pretty sure PAG said it was a staggered 20/21 setup.

The brakes look like they fill the fronts more. They're also cast iron so presumably same size front and rear. Therefore, those wheels are staggered 20/21.

The 1.6in wider front end is most interesting from a handling perspective, all other dimensions are basically the same except for one inch longer front overhang.

You don't need to speculate about the wheels either, S models and up get 20/21 staggered.. its already in print articles

i think the wing is pics is just for testing.

If Porsche GT cars get variable aero, I bet it would first show up in RS, not GT3.

whaddup Trev. find me an example where they changed the wing for testing? in my memory.. it's always exactly how its going to be in production.. plus some cladding. when you look at the goose-neck shape, it's completely 935 style.. as well as.. Lamborghini Performante style. I fully subscribe to the ALA-style internal aerodynamics possibility mentioned above. The RS will possibly have an evolution of that.. but GT3 often gets innovations first as it gets introduced first. That wing in the pics makes me very happy by the way.

Porsche should hire someone with Gordon Murray's mentality to head the GT department. He should gather up in a room all the heads of the engineering teams responsible for each system in the car. He should have a big white board and he should write on it with huge letters : REDUCE WEIGHT!!!
Otherwise where are we headed? There are talks here about active aero(motors add weight),RWS,21 inch wheels, bigger brakes, more airbags, backup camera, particulate filters, more computers....weight....weight...weight!
The HP war is over,we've won,it's all about WEIGHT!! now...

Just my 2 c...not that anyone cares...

i don't know what everyone's talking about. Wings aside (clearly a prototype, doubt it will be anything like that in the final product), that bumper looks A MILLION TIMES BETTER than the regular 992 we have seen so far

What what is the deal with the moderators moving every bloody thread with any 992 picture to the 992 forum from the 991 GT forum?

This is a picture of a 992 GT3!!!!!!!!!!!, not a Carrera. It belongs on the GT forum unless the moderators want to open up a brand new 992 GT cars forum!

If you take a step back and look at that gt3 wirh thkse massive wheels, spoiler and wide hips.. it looks positively menacing. The aggressiveness level feels like two steps up from anything before. I've got a feeling it's aero tech and performance will really move the game onwards.
