Looking forward to actually seeing the launch / production model. The Automobilemag review starts with this:
Thanks in part to a fresh suite of computer-controlled assets, the new 911 is faster, more efficient, and, most importantly, more fun to drive than ever. Though it’s shaping up to be a significant improvement over the outgoing model, the 992 is not a new car down to the pores.
"More fun to drive than ever" from someone who's actually driven the car seems encouraging to me!

The 992 cars that were made available to the press just recently were so called 0-Series 2 cars. The 0-Series 2 is the second pre-production series before Start of Production (SOP) begins. SOP will start end of October with all components in final customer approval status.

Car and Driver cliff notes... Lighter, longer, wider. Modest HP bump. Cheaper materials and a lot of plastic replaces leather and metallic parts. No change in engine or suspension. PDK gets another gear between 6th and 7th for a total of 8.

If it weights more, and faster - hence, it must be more powerful, and that's better for a sports car, no? And it's not about just a flat drag race straight speed, it's an agile driving with one of the best performance vehicle chassis.
If not, and you want something else out of sports car, it will be an irrational choice, based on many individual factors, which could not be objectively justified.
And if other people still buy ever-inflated 992, then a non-believer is an exclusion and a renegade, resorted to an internet forums to express his/her dissatisfaction with:
clam spoilers, allergy to a haptic feedback touch buttons, nubbin form denies, 'swear it's my last Porsche which i bought', 'I don't want to stare into the big screen, 'my 197x car was better, and the likes.
You can scream '911 is a Panamera in the making' all day long and nobody but a few concerned relatives will care
