Right now, the 911 is offered in three bodies: NB for Carrera/S/T, WB for C4/C4S/GTS/Targa/GT3, and XXL for Turbo/RS. If Porsche introduces the 992 as a C2S and C4S wearing this same body (and if the C2 will use the same body), perhaps the 911 is going to get back to offering just two widths—which is probably attractive to PAG on a lot of levels. A look at the tire sizes for the 991.2 range suggests three widths are unnecessary, as the 245/305 setup is shared by NB Carreras and XXL Turbos. The only models that make use of the extra room in their rear fenders are the GT3 RS and GT2 RS, with taller 325s out back....

It’s going to be a gorgeous car, I have no doubt about it. But much like iPhones, I’d rather buy the mid-cycle refreshes than the 1st generation of a model. My T will have to last another 5 or so years!

“and exhausts that exit through the bumper rather than underneath it. These exhaust tips are not physically connected to the muffler exits, which allows them to be closer to the fascia—at the price of some authenticity.”

Look back at all the comments on the pre production 997,991.1,991.2 and see if there is a trend. This community bashes everything before it launches.
I doubt that camo prototype cars are finished as production. I'll pass judgment once I see the finished car. Does not make sense for Porsche to go backwards on interior quality since they finally have been getting better.
Porsche seems to have a knack for selling more cars. After all the .2 bashing and turbo vacuum comments it's almost religious gospel listening to those who have purchased a T. Isn't it from the same vacuum lineage.
Give them a chance to finish the car before you sh@t on it.

Last week at church I was very offended when some kid was on the platform talking about the "young adult" group. I was upset that I had not been invited. My wife quickly says.... "you haven't been a young adult in 10 years.... I say this to say that I remember not getting it when the old timers loved their old muscle cars and the air-cooled guys in PCA. While I appreciate them - they don't resonate with me in the religious manner that they do to some. People that want the latest and that buy based on internet/magazine rankings with flock to the new model regardless. Remember, as hated at the 996 was, Porsche sold ALL of them Making tradition is a low volume and expensive proposition and the reason Singer gets away with charging so much.

I have no doubt that a huge percentage of the 991 folks will eventually happily upgrade to the 992 and then later lament how the 992.2 or 994 is where Porsche has really lost their way, for real this time.

"Why doesn't this thing have cupholders"
"We demand cupholders"
"These cupholders suck"
"Wow, what idiot came up with this giant cupholder"

I keep hoping someone more industrious than me will go back and pull up some choice quotes from the 996->997 and 997->991 transition days.
