I attended the NY International auto show this am, they (Porsche) confirmed what you said above, targeting the individual tb motor for the next GT3, they were ask as always if GT cars would continue to have naturally aspirated versions, the answer was "we plan to continue to offer naturally aspirated cars as far into the future as the regulations (emissions, etc) will allow for them to be offered" I am just hoping the new 718 Spyder in NA.

I think the next GT3 will be naturally aspirated as the execs have hinted, but will it get an electric assist? A hybrid 992 GT3 will still be NA. This will be 1st for Porsche if it happens; introducing a new power unit in a GT car before Carreras. Porsche have done some interesting twists in recent years, so anything is possible.

I expect that both 992 GT3 versions will be pure NA, but if any GT car gets a hybrid, the first one would be the 992.1 RS, not the 992.1 GT3.

I’m 1000% sure the 992.1 GT3 will be pure NA, the 992.2 GT3 is more of a question mark, but likely still a pure NA car.

I expect the Turbo will be the first 911 to get an electric boost.

My guess is this hybrid is the next GT3 and/or the next GT3 RS. I only hope for 10k+ rpm redline for the NA engine mated to the electric motors.
Maybe the video you referring to is another variant (RS), but I'm not hearing any low speed whistling/whining in this video with 992 GT3 test mule. Again, I will be extremely surprised if the GT3 adds a hybrid setup. It's too much weight on a new platform that is already substantially heavier, with little to no performance advantage on track.

Can you provide a link to the video you're referring to, curious to hear what it sounds like.

I have never heard aero whistle like that, have you? If so, I'd be curious to see (listen) to a video of it.

My side mirrors whistle with PPF at 50 MPH + with right atmospheric conditions. That rear wing is not air tunnel optimized. Listen to the video I posted a few posts up, there is ZERO noise at low speed. Which is when a hybrid/regenerative system is most prominent/loud.

Just posting another vid where you can hear a slight whistle from the GT3 mule. I'm not wed either way to what this is, but thought the sound was interesting. See the Targa video below and skip to :50 and listen to the GT3 mule go by.

I may be wrong, but doubt any aero whine will sound like that before the car even gets close to the camera head on. And this sound appears to be at a constant sounding frequency regardless of speed.

How many of the forum members that own a 991.2 GT3 are planning to “upgrade” to a 992.1 when it arrives? I placed a small waiting list deposit on a 992 GT3 at MSRP (dealer expects 2021/2022 MY) but really wonder if my current 991.2 GT3 will feel any less fun in 2-3 years time. Just curious how others are thinking about “trading up”.

Not convinced the 992 GT3 will be an "upgrade", 992 is a step backwards in a lot of aspects IMO. I really think the 991.2 will be the one to keep, but I will have to wait for official release of 992 GT3 to make final decision.
