Looks like the weight saving of the Manual gearbox increases from 44 lbs in the 991 Carrera to 55 lbs in the 992 Carrera:

The weight savings in the GT3 is currently 37 pounds. Not sure if it will have the same 11 pound increase to savings as the Carrera or something different?

Guesses, sure. There have been quite a few on this forum. When you read one you'll see five others saying something different. The nature and diversity of this forum. I think the truth is no one really knows. Will Porsche under the influence of VW shorten the time between model updates or will Porsche stick closer to its usual schedule (if there exists such a thing any longer)? Can suppliers keep up with this increased demand for GT cars?
When I rub my foggy crystal ball it says 992 GT3 release at Geneva show in 2021. But.... it does have small crack in it so......

Why not Frankfurt 2019? They need an updated engine for 2020 Motorsport homologation purpose
...unless a special 991 (GT3?) RS final edition ala 997 RS4.0...

When you look at the GT roadmap, we're still waiting for the 718 GT4, 718 Spyder, etc. I don't see Porsche unveiling the 992 GT3 until ordering and deliveries for these models wind down. I could be wrong.
Take this with a mountain of salt, but my dealer told me the 992.2 GT3 will be a 2024 car, so I would expect the 992.1 GT3 to be a 2021 car. Granted they're likely just speculating and don't know much more than we are.

From what I'm seeing out of GIMS this week, I'm increasingly convinced the 992 GT3 will be hybrid (atmospheric motor with electric assist). Practically every manufacturer is turning to electric for more power, more economy, or both.

The picture of the disguised 992 wi( a wing may be a GT3. Picture was taken in the north suburbs of Detroit, this 992 has been seen in the Detroit area for the past couple weeks.
