50th Anniversary 992.1 Turbo S Official Thread
So it seems this car is launching very soon.
Who is getting it?
What have you heard about it from the cleaning ladies?
Do you think it will follow in the steps of the exclusive 991 Turbo S?
Let’s discuss

Thank you for starting this 3d.
I do not have any inside information but very interested to read more on the subject.
Below my guess.
Given that the look will probably pay homage to the 930 of 1974 with some kind of special whail-tail, I am wondering if mechanically it will be based on the standard AWD turbo S or else; maybe a small bump in hp 20-30.
We can probably safely assume it will have a carbonfiber frunk and roof like the 991 exclusive had and special interior.
The production volume would make sense at 1974 units and price could probably be halfway between a turbo S and a Sport Classic if based on the standard turbo S.

It is surely numbered and a hard to get car for the dealers since I have been informed by a couple that they are trying to get more allocations and it will not be easy. And the dealers I spoke in europe have at least 2-3 customers that surely want the car but would be impossible to satisfy the demand.
Makes sense that the customer demand would be up there - logically - but speculating of course - this should be the last ICE only Turbo S.

When I originally heard about his car, I heard it was the first 1973 cars to run out the 992.2 in turbo manual format before hybrid
It seems this was wrong?

In my understanding (and I may be wrong) the Pasha car would probably be a targa and the turbo Anniversary would probably have a Tartan heritage interior of some kind.
Turbo was presented in Paris 1974
Targa was presented in Frankfurt 1965
For reference.
This official Porsche AG video from a year ago contains some clues about the heritage models for the different decades:

Somebody believes it will be presented tomorrow:
https://www.thesupercarblog.com/exci...-pebble-beach/
My humble opinion is that we will see a lot of activity in the turbo area of the 992 line in the next few months ... and years.
This Anniversary would be a 992.1 send-off special probably from the Exclusive Department.
Then the 992.2 turbo manual could come as a 2026 MY model.
It would come without the typical turbo aero for a reason ... because it could be the base for a special with specific aero ...
Towards the end of the 992.2 cycle we would probably see the Heritage 1980s celebration model based on the 992.2 turbo with rwd manual and a specific whale tail.
The above makes sense to me as all three versions will cover a different customer base and the regular 992.2 turbo will be different enough from the 1980s special which will be distant in timeframe (2027?) from the Sport Classic as not to create unwanted "internal conflict".
Just my guess.

Whatever we might say this is a nice car.
It is the last ice only turbo s. IF the exlusive parts and customizations are done well and tastefully by the factory then it is a very nice car for a collection and a nice farewell to this era Turbo S.
