Used TTS price advice needed
Hi everyone. I’m now convinced I need a 992 TTS after test driving a few. New is not an option given allocations and wait times for me and also the potential switch to 992.2.
I see used 2023 prices still listing $20-30k over MSRP for CPO cars with 10K or less miles on them.
Any thoughts on what a reasonable amount is to pay these days…over MSRP still seems like that’s where the market is? Thanks.

Also, just out of curiousity, what about the 992 TTS test drive experience convinced you that you needed one? Have you also test driven the GT3 or the Carrera S/GTS as comparison points? I haven't, but I do plan to buy one of these at some point and am kind of in the same boat as you - wondering what my best option is for obtaining this car, and if TTS is better than S/GTS or GT3 for my tastes.

In Canada, prices for TTS are dropping, lots under MSRP now. I can't see cars still selling for over MSRP??
Import one from Canada, with the exchange rate, it must be a good deal?

Surprisingly, in the U.S., used TTS are generally commanding a premium over MSRP (anywhere from 10 to 20k).
New spec'able allocations, however, are at, or below, MSRP.

MY 22s are at MSRP and a little over. If you "need" the most current PCM I'd go for a 22 to try and get a better deal. 21s are where you're gonna get the most from your money as the depreciation hit was borne by the guy/s before you, but again it will have PCM 5 and all that it lacks vs PCM 6. For the most part, this can be simply alleviated with a $600 software mod.
IDK. Its still an abstruse environment and EVERYONE is saying the bottoms gonna fall out SOON but this has been the theme for the last two years.
As for will they depreciate? 100%. TTS historically takes the biggest hit of all 911 variants. IMO it's cause the fat cats who buy them get them new and then they're onto the next new thing only months after. Most none of the IG influenecers and crypto bros are getting them over a GT3.
So simple answer: Yup, over MSRP for CPO 23 TTS is fair market value. For some. Just know if you're paying that, you’ll be the one taking the depreciation hit.

I'm also wondering about this. Will these go down in value or is there any potential for the 992 TTS to even appreciate in value in the future if the newer generation is hybrid and less desireable?

For me, I wanted a 911 that is great for the open road, canyon drives, and the occasional track day, but is also luxurious in appointments and fast as all hell. Only the 911 TTS does all of this. The GT cars are too loud for me and too tightly sprung...not good for road trips for me and my wife. A Carrera S would fit the bill, but falls short in the speed and capability department when compared to the TTS.
The best way to decide is to figure out what your driving needs and intended uses are and then test drive all of the variants to see how they suit those needs.

OP here. Got lucky, and found and bought the perfect car for me today. It's a CPO 2021 with all of the options and color preferences I was looking for and ~10K miles. It is also cosmetically flawless which is very important to me. Was able to get it for under original MSRP...not much but approx. 8K under.

Kind of amazing, 3 years old and 10k miles still fetched $8k under MSRP. I would have expected a much greater depreciation.

Buy the car, not the deal…wise advice for me that someone on this forum posted a few days ago. In the grand scheme of a $200K+ purchase, 10-20K is meaningless to me against a car that I love.

For me it made sense. There’s really no difference between a 2021 and a 2024 TTS in terms of the car itself. I saw some 2K mile 2023 cars that already had a scuff and a scratch asking $40K more. The 2021 I bought was perfect…that’s more important to me than 8k miles. It also had every option possible and perfect colors for me. 5 years from now when I have 50K miles on the car an 8K mileage difference is meaningless.
