Default OBD Killer

Has anyone used this product to deal with ECU errors before they become a nuisance from an Exhaust and Cat change? OBD Killer.

Thought you’re getting the M Eng coder?

Please do not install that hack junk on your $300k TTS.

Why don’t you just put a cat back on the car and leave the DME/tune alone?

I just bought a JCR valved center and race cats - they are installed and Jonny - sent that dongle. I also purchased M-Eng Tuner which is yet to be installed. I am legitimately asking if this dongle works as advertised and if anyone has had issues with it.

Congrats on a killer exhaust...I have the same and cant stop smiling every drive.

I have a stage 2 tune with M-Eng and have zero codes/CELs in all driving conditions.

Guys on the 992 forum have used this dongle...may get more response there.

You wont need it once the M-E is installed.

yes it do! I had it on my2024 turbo s I can’t see it’s an issue to use on a 300k or $500.00 hooptie ! A car is a car

Please be very cautious using one of these style products. The way they work is generally every few minutes or so of driving, the device will perform an "ECU reset" on the car to clear any codes from popping up. The problem with this is that any ECU learning (such as fuel trims) are also cleared. You also introduce an issue of the device clearing codes for actual problems on the car as you wouldn't be made aware of a CEL that is active. Any readiness monitors will also always be reset.

I recently met with a local Panamera customer who had one of these installed on his car for his downpipes. The device had been installed for a few years and was auto-clearing the codes he was getting for multiple cylinder misfires and lean codes without him knowing it. As a result this car had some extensive damage and repairs that needed to be done.

The obd killer is just killing the code that is popping up when you connect the obd killer, any other different code that pops up later different to that one won't be blocked

Because it stores in the device's memory the code that is active the first time you connect it, the rest of the codes are ignored

Ya we get that part, but I am not sure these little code readers can ONLY delete one specific code. Typically they clear all codes.

you need more access to the DME to clear specific codes while leaving others active from what I’ve seen.

I would want to be 100% certain it’s not clearing all or other codes before using it.

I guess they have improved, now you have Akra, JCR and Dundon offering them
