Shell 91 vs petro canada 94

Hey,
I got delivery of my 992 turbo s 2 days ago and I had to refuel within the first day. I put in 94 octane from Petro Canada and on the 2nd day I tried to do a pull and the car was revving up to 6k rpm but it wasn’t going fast it. I’m wondering if it was for the 94 octane with10% ethanol. With a bit of research I found that Shell 91,93 is far better than any 94 octane. But I’m not sure if I should use shell 91 since the recommend is 93 premium octane. Please let me know. Also I don’t really care about the break in period but I didn’t full throttle it yet, I still go fast on the highway with half throttle or a bit more. Sometimes I cross the 6k rpm line with half throttle

If you dont care about the break in, why do you care about the fuel? You can do more damage during break in hitting high RPM than using the wrong fuel. Anyone that thinks 91 octane is better than 94 is why we have instructions on shampoo bottles.

Shell 93 is the best fuel in Alberta.
Apparently, Chevron 94 with 10% ethanol is really good in BC
Petro94 is decent.
Don't use 91, the car will pull timing.
These cars heat soak pretty bad and don't like hot/humid weather.

PetroCanada 94 is one of the best fuels for power in Canada, particularly for us in the east where it’s the only 93+ available. The 10% ethanol is actually good for performance as it improves octane and also has slightly more energy content per mass flow of air inducted. Stay away of the 92/91 fuels.

I find shell 93 to offer more performance than petro 94.
my logs with petro 94 would have some timing correction, with shell 93 I see very little timing correction.
my mustang buddies all get about 1-2 degrees more timing on shell 93 as well. (Boosted coyotes)
fyi

In AB chevron 94 non ethanol is absolute garbage you might as well run 91.
however chevron 94 w/ 10 percent ethanol in BC seems to be a better fuel and I have heard works really well.
If you’re tuned, try different fuels and see what holds more timing.

Ethanol is good. Not bad unless you're messing with early 90's engines and lawn mowers.
When I lived in Canada 94 octane used to be found at Sunoco stations. Now it's Petro Canada. Has it changed or is it still sourced from Sunoco?
I too have heard bad things from tuners about the 94 octane nowadays. Doesn't make sense to me but haven't been bothered to research it as I no longer live there.
