Default Car is leaking oil after oil change

I'm having a slow but significant oil leak after having an oil change one month ago on my turbo s. I'm going to take it by the dealership tomorrow. What's your guest as to what's going on under there? I'm thinking either a loose drain plug or loose filter?

On my previous Porsches had similar problem after oil change where o ring and or drain plug gaskets weren’t seated or replaced correctly, causing oil weep. Not sure this is your answer though

The new plastic drain plugs no longer use a brass crush washer. They use an O ring which can be harder to seal properly - especially if over torqued

I bet they either did not replace the o-ring, or it was damaged or nicked when installed, maybe undertightened but probably not. Plastic plug in plastic pan, the 991 was better, it was metal, pan and plug JMO. Every time I change my oil in the 992 tts's I hold my breath

The plastic plug comes with the oring on it. It's impossible to overtighten or undertighten it. It goes in and twists to a lock. Only goes about 1/2-3/4 a turn. May just be a defective plug. I've seen it before.

Other (Not Drain Plug) Possibilities:
  • It could also be leaking from the "O" Ring that seals the Oil Filter housing.
  • Some oil was spilled (it wouldn't take much) when pouring the new oil into the engine.
Some questions:
  • Where does the oil seem to be coming from?
  • What color is it?
  • How much oil is it?

Torque is cheap unless you are torqueing to a lawyer.

YMMV
