Default 2023 Turbo S Allocation (Coupe or Cab)

A Dealer has offered me a 2023 Turbo S Allocation, I have a 2022 Turbo S Cabriolet. Is there ANY advantage (besides a year more warranty, but down side a much higher price tage 10k over last year, for all the same options), to sell my 2022 TS and get a 2023? I am allowed to sell my Turbo S, without trading it in. But is all that worth it, for what maybe 20k over what I paid? (MSRP).

Need some serious advice, I wont have long to decide.

I THINK the answer is no, just keep my 2022 Turbo S Cab. I'd say I could try the coupe, since I currently have the CAB, but I dont see a reason to have the exact same car, so one cab, one coupe is silly... I'd have to pick one...

Really would appreciate thoughts.

if your ashtray is dirty, go ahead and change it

personally, only 1yr old would be too soon for me - but have fun deciding

Seems silly to me, unless you want a coupe versus a cabriolet at this point. If there was something you missed adding in the build, then you could add it now and get the coupe. I, personally, couldn't see anything that you shouldn't have missed the first time around.

Just pointing out the silliness of what you're dealing with (mentally).....fear not, you have a great car - i'm biased for a cab, hopefully you'll come to enjoy yours more than you anticipated - pass on the allocation offered, (pm me with the dealer name) (joking) & get some miles on your car....burn off a few sets of tires - tell the dealer to keep pushing you forward on his list so you will never be too far off from ordering a new one when you feel the real need - thats the way i'd go, since my dealer has a list a mile long...to be offered an allocation right now is a good place to be - enjoy the drives !

lol, guys I have 5,500 miles on my CAB, I have been driving it.. lol. Mines a 250k sticker, I got all options I wanted, I cant imagine any other check boxes even in hindsight I'd add. BUT, now they 'upped' the game, and said they probably can give me a GT3 allocation, they just got one today.

I just order one every year, if I don't want it I can sell it in a minute, really a minute. It takes me about a year to add all my mods and work out all the little problems of the engine mods, built in radar and new sound system and wheels and tires, but then again I have a problem with cars. You can probably sell your car for that extra 10k to someone not wanting to wait, depending on color and options right now, there will not be much difference between the 22' and 23'

Seems silly unless you didn’t get all the options you wanted on your current car or have learned there are options you got and don’t want any longer.

why not
Coupe drives slightly different than a Cab
you are getting a MY 2023 so it will protect you more on resale
you can try another color combination
you are not losing ant tax money
and is barely costing you anything
this is probably the only time in a generation that you can do this kind of thing without getting killed on resale
like normally selling a 1 year old TTS Cab would have cost you 50 k
I just bought and sold a 718 Spyder to drive for 2 months in the summer and had zero regrets .It is like renting a car that you can't normally rent and having fun with it and moving on

Man... do something grounding. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Feed the hungry. Just once. Your answer will come to you!

I think last year, well really even up to a few months ago of this year, it would have been a no brainer, just do it. But now with the market cooling, why pay $10,000 more for the same car, for 1 model years difference, with no discernible differences, GIVEN that I am actually not 'wanting' for an option I didnt select. The same configuration for my car 250k+ sticker would be a 260k+ sticker on 2023, with no performance or options advantages.

Now the question becomes, sell my 2022 TS at 'market' prices, and pick order a 2023 GT3 at msrp (at a much lower msrp), and have SOME protection against depreciation, vs whats going on with the TS's right now. My sales guy told me they arent selling at auction right now, because they are priced too high (for what people had to pay for them originally with mark up), and now they are 'no sale' because they arent meeting reserves. The market is changing, and while this isnt a 'bet on the used car market pricing' discussion, this is a rare chance where I can insulate myself a bit from my 'car craze stupidity' because I do buy new cars every 6 to 12 months, might as well check out a GT3, even though my gutt tells me, it wont be as good as the TS on the street, but if I do a 'stripper build' I will be more than happy to take it to track with very little care in the world.

I even considered, doing a coupe TS with 'light weight' package, but then felt if I was going that route why not just do the GT3. (Yes I saw the carwow video where TS beat the GT3 on track)

Eh, I have a few weeks, I'll share back my decision once everything solidifies. Thanks for the input !

Well they are completely different monsters. It appears financially you are just fine so with that I would absolutely give the GT3 a go. Albeit older I owned a 15 Turbo Cab then bought and owned a 15 GT3 so I have a little experience between them both. Certainly if you plan to track the GT3 it is amazing (I did only a couple track days). Honestly owning them both and if money was no object and I did not care about resale and I could order either one exact to my specs I would order a TTS Cab. It is just such an amazing car.

If you're not going manual, I really don't see why you opt out of your TTS. If you're deciding you just want a track car, sure do it. Otherwise stick with the turbo.
