Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Pro?
Hey everyone,
I'm considering getting the Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Pro for dealing with/clearing any codes that my car might throw at me once I start my suspension drop / sport cat adventures. Has anyone here tried it? It looks pretty feature-rich but I wonder whether it would actually be a value add for the 992 TTS, vs a cheaper OBDII scanner.

It offers nothing different for a 992 that a simple reader will. If it were a 991 it would offer you full diagnostic like a factory PIWIS but you will not get that for a 992.
In my opinion it's a waste of your money if your sole purpose is to use it for a 992.

We are thinking of purchasing an Autel maxisys. Do you have any experience with this tool? What are the best features? Are there any problems? Is the Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Pro a good choice?

Post #2 is a year old. Might things have changed since then.
Last weekend my tech used a $3k Autel to scan my 992 GT3, it picked up almost all systems including an adaptive suspension fault that my simple code reader didn't see at all.
I don't want to spend that much and was looking at the icarsoft MAX BT. Does anyone know if it works with 992 cars? If not, any sense of timing as to when it might?

Thread is a little older but I own a 906 in the San Antonio area. I’ve used it to do adaptations on my Mercedes and Holden vehicles but my 911 won’t be delivered until January. The 906 does coding and is bi directional but I’ve never drilled down into the Porsche menus to see what is there.
Most of my cars will show a way to reset cameras, radar, ride height, throttle body, transmission, tpms, airbags, body and chassis control module checks to sub systems and of course it will allow you to data log live events.
you can then see actual temps, boost levels, trans, engine temps and timing. I’m working through a low boost side 1 on my GL which has 3-4 components that are supposed to give you the correct amount of boost and dump boost. The Autel is a sweet tool but it doesn’t give you a bunch of boxes to check or uncheck to add options or remove them as far as I can tell. You would probably need to have the coding from a vehicle that has these options and recode the module that deals with those features. I’ll hook up my car when I get it and see what’s available next year and hopefully I will be able to give some good information to those looking for a good scanner.
