Old thread, but IMO Speed Yellow is vastly superior to "Racing" Yellow.
I will buy another SY car, unlikely to buy a RY car.

For me, it's the shade. RY is not as saturated as Speed Yellow. It doesn't work on the 992 body. I drove one around for a few days and that was enough.

Signal yellow is the best shade I think.

I think Racing Yellow is not a good yellow. I have a Champagne 356, Light Yellow 73RS, Summer Yellow 964RS, and a couple of Speed Yellow cars. So I do like yellow. However, more recent colors haven’t been as good as the older ones - Miami Blue is not nearly as good as Mexico or Maritime Blue, Lava Orange isn’t as good as Orange (997.1RS) or Tangerine (early 911’s). Other REALLY good yellows are Signal Yellow and Bahama Yellow. I rely on a friend who is a painter who has perfect pitch whenit comes to colors and I trust his opinion. I keep cars too long and don’t want a color that I will tire of.
