FWIW, I "over optioned" a 991.2 Turbo a few years ago and when I traded it in (back when the market for these cars was lukewarm), I still got a pretty good return. I would have regretted getting some boring spec.

-$12k from what I paid after about 1.5 years ownership. $171k sticker on a 2017 (so cheap back then!)
One caveat that I just realized. I did buy that car with a discount, so keep in mind that what I paid was not MSRP.

Perhaps with an exotic, but I suspect a Turbo S buyer is more discerning given many of the options add functionality versus just glam. There are so many cars that are more flashy than a Turbo S for IG or forum signature lists. The flex with this car is small.
You can add $100k in carbon fiber on a Lambo.

Every person I know who has ever bought a 911 turbo/turbo s has never sold it. They just seem like cars that are meant to be driven forever and held onto.
My 992 will be my second Porsche, I intend on keeping it for as long as it will allow me to keep it.
my cayenne turbo the same way. These cars are just well built and perform so well in every way, that I ask myself the question when upgrading to a different car, “is this really a major upgrade ? Or more of a lateral or slightly upwards ?
most of the time answer is no. My friend who is a huge lambo guy tried to get me to trade in my Cayenne for an Urus. I looked into it. It would have been an MSRP of 275k-300k. At a delta of 115-140k it just made no sense to me.

Since you're asking. If/when you decide to sell your new 2021 TTS, if you spec'd it EXACTLY like Build Code PNBP1NB9 (Your MSRP: $236,730) I'd want to know the details and how much you were asking.

This one is pretty easy to predict, the TTS has the most complete set of basic options of any 911, with most options on builds people throw on end up being superfluous for 90 percent of possible buyers where the lowest price of entry in a completely jacked up market is a clear winner for at least 95 percent of the market searching for a USED car. Don't forget, rennlist often falls into that 5 percent of those who become really picky looking for things on builds...as right now everyone else is just fighting for ANY TTS at ANY price that isn't 30k plus markup...

Due to some potential (hasn't hit me yet) high cost / post warranty engine issues the cars have very low market value
It was one of the first to have PDDC. Amazingly athletic for such a heavy car.
I keep it because there is no other car that can do what it does, and drive like it does, for $20k. Nothing. Not even close.
