There is definitely a lag of as much as a week or more

There's definitely a lag, as I got the notification on May 12th that my car completed production, but on the 11th it was already on the boat departing from Emden.

Finally got my "Your 911 finished production" email, I'm pretty psyched. Next up is arrival at Emden according to TYD

I arrived at Emden today, a few days ahead of schedule ... TYD has me on the vessel on 6/18. A few weeks at port?

How long are folks waiting at Emden before hopping on a ship?

Thanks

It depends on the ship schedule. If you're lucky, it could be same day or if not, it could be a week or two.

Any other folks sitting at Emden waiting for a boat to Baltimore?

Default 992 TTS Has Arrived! - Reality vs. TYD vs. Dealer Data

TYD and dealer printout said arrival at dealer on 6/4. Car arrived 5/29. I had a call early on 5/29 from my SA saying "your car could be in tomorrow (5/30) or late tonight". In the early afternoon he called and said: "Hey, I just saw your car drive by!"

TYD was still showing 6/4, and yesterday, 5/31, two days after I took delivery, I received an email from Porsche announcing: "Congratulations, your new 911 Turbo S has been loaded onto a transport truck and has started the final stretch of its journey to your Porsche dealership.". Oops. TYD is gone now, but the 6/4 delivery date never changed even though the dealer is about 40 miles from the port of Baltimore.

Whenever I opened TYD there was the chip shortage disclaimer and before going to the timeline, there was an image of the car saying "your car has finished production" - even after it reached Baltimore. My car was in Emden from March 30 until May 6. It arrived in Baltimore shortly after midnight on 5/16, but TYD said it was at the port on 5/18. At this point, TYD was showing undergoing port processing, transport to the dealership and arrival at the dealership ALL on 5/21.

Generally, the dealer's data sheet was more accurate than TYD. BTW, I never cracked the code on how to get production pics - I heard they're not available for every car. From the dealership the car is going directly for PPF. I'll post pics soon.

For what ever reason, both the website and dealer were dead on. It all said May 28th, and the car arrived on the 28th. Incredible!

I'm too plugged into the whole boat thing. I don't bother with TYD, but I do follow the boat. It was painful to watch it sit for two days outside the Panama Canal. I need more to do with my time!
