Yeah pretty much. I got a rounding discount of 2k after having purchased 7 high figure P & F cars from the same dealership.

Call the highest volume dealerships

i was offered a build yesterday for august delivery however no sports design package
so I turned it down and he was going to “next on the list”

I want to wait until sports design package.

no discounts though. My friend and I both ordering TTS at the same time and neither of us were able to get any freebies.
Unless you are willing to wait a year or more at a low volume shop

Any bigger dealers you recommend? I would go without the sports design package if the slot still available.

Also I think the rebuild with the official 2022 pricing increase is what they are looking for. Have many of you had to put down deposits? Ever had any problems with that?

Even if you're not on top of the list, your persistence may make you the most likely prospect at the precise moment an allocation becomes available, either through the mother ship or via a cancellation. Keep pushing nicely. Good luck to you!
Agreed on being persistent. I was able to get a spot for someone who cancelled that day. Helped that I purchased a car from my SA a few months earlier. My Turbo S is slated to arrive early May.

I have always offered to pay a deposit. It means you are serious and won’t walk. Get a receipt. Never had a problem.

My local dealer will put you on the list as they are expecting more allocations in 2021. BuddyG on this forum can attest that the Naples Dealer came thru for him. Message me if you want me to put you in contact with them. It can't hurt to be on a list.

For the 992 allocation I eventually got I offered to pay a non-refundable deposit. Nobody would take it, and the dealer from whom I ordered the car didn't care which way i went wrt the deposit.

I haven't been asked to place a deposit on any of the cars I've ordered - but the last time I took delivery my salesperson told me that he had gotten a little grief for not having collected one (in other words, he was indirectly telling me I'll probably need to for my next order whenever that might be). I would have placed a deposit if I had been asked to do so, though.

No deposit. A lot of that just depends on how strict they are about dealer policy and your purchase history with the dealership.

I’m new to this excellent forum (from Switzerland). Can I ask a question pls? Is the price rigidity, ie. no discounts, due to excess demand in the US (vs availability)? Or is more the market typical functioning (eg. lower MSRP vs Europe)?

Supply in my country is not ample but slots can still be found. I ordered a 992 TTS cab taking an est. may/June production slot. Had some others P and F but nothing to get in any good list. Still managed to get more than 10% discount on listed price by shopping around. A friend also from Switzerland, top of most “lists” (7-8 good ones just in the P section, incl. GTs, gt2 rs clubsport, etc) got a 992 TTS in 2020 with -10% discount too. But starting prices are significantly higher here..
