Howdy all!

I am so fortunate to be officially on the way to my 992TS. I have owned a 2011 987.2 CS and just recently sold my 2014 981 CS today. I am number #5 in line on a wait list for an allocation and I am very excited. Porsches...what amazing cars...it hurt watching my 981 drive off today with the new owner after nearly 6 years of ownership. Anyways I've been on Planet-9 for years and moved over here as it seems to have more in the realm of the 911.

I will probably be Porcheless (if this is a word lol) for anywhere from 8-15 months depending on when the actual allocation is made available. This will take some getting used to, but I thought it prudent to start socking some funds away on the new car.

Looking forward to reading the threads, working on my build, and eventually owning a car that will exceed all of my wildest dreams!

Congrats it is an awesome car. If you want one sooner there are some out there used. Also you can find allocations on here, because being 5th at your dealer means you are probably a long way out.

Crazyrob - Welcome and congratulations on your choice. What's your initial thinking on spec?

They think I could have the car by my 50th birthday Feb 2022. But they said they have zero control or predictability on allocations.

All of my Caymans were grey...Meteor and Agate respectively. However I really like the GT silver on the 911 and would like to offset with high gloss black. I am really weak on speccing the interior...so that is where I will be learning the most from everyone on the forum. I'd love to go crazy, but I really am trying to stay around $250K out the door - taxes and all.

Here is the one I am working on so far.

Feb 2022! That’s the earliest allocation your dealer has?

Very cool! It is going to be beautiful. I love the idea of the two tone slate grey chalk with the GT silver exterior. Very unique.

If he's #5 then I think 2/2022 is actually pretty good. I was thinking he'd be almost 2 years out.

An alternate concept on GT Silver.

You can get a lot of interior leather with deviated stitching, for the price of just the deviated stitching.

Thanks! I'll study this interior. I also like some of the exterior differences that you have selected. So many choices!

I agree, it sounds like it might be a long way out. There are periods during the year where allocations are scarce, but you might want to jump on one with a deposit right when they are handed out to all the dealers rather than waiting on a list at your local dealer. I was at my local dealer last night (my son was picking up his very first P-car) and my salesperson gave me a clear signal that 911 allocations are very uncertain right now - they're apparently working out how much production is going to be dedicated to the newly launched GT3. Between balancing demand for all the models in the lineup with the so-called "chip shortage" it could be a weird year - they may decide not to produce non-GT 911s in large numbers. No facts, here, just speculation (both from me and my salesperson) but there's no doubt that allocations don't seem to be plentiful.

There are dealer sponsors on these forums that have indicated they do expect allocations if you want to contact them, for example: https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1239...l#post17277630

Thanks for the info. I will look into it.
Y'all don't be scaring me lol. The salesman at the dealership seemed fairly confident I could have the car in my hands by Feb 2022 (including the 4 months of production and shipping after the order).
Obviously, this year and all of the funkyness could obviously throw a wrench into the allocation process.
I did put my name on the list at a second dealer, as an insurance policy, but I am much deeper on that list.
Worst case scenario I could find a pre-owned one, but I am really trying to spec one fresh as I am wanting to keep it for at least 10-15 years.
Time will tell.

I waited 2 years for a Taycan. Good things come to those who wait.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know why there is no option to have the brake pads painted in red? Yellow or black seems to be it. Was used to red on my Cayman S.
