Default *NEW BUILD* 992 TURBO S ON HRE R101LW x TECHART ADJUSTABLE SPRINGS - TAG Motorsports

This past month TAG has been a 992 Turbo factory as we have mentioned before., This customer came in for some new HRE wheels, Techart adjustment, and other small touches.

We started with the Techart adjustable spring kit, which has been the go-to with our 992 clients. This allowed us to dial in the height perfectly for our client. Next, we installed arguably our favorite wheels for any platform let alone the Porsche platform. HRE Wheels R101LW. These were finished in a Frozen Brushed Champagne finish. Can we say classy? These wheels were wrapped in the Michelin P4S tires to handle everyday cruising duties.

We think it came out great. Let us know what you think!

2021 Porsche 992 Turbo S

-HRE 21/22" R101 Lightweight in Frozen Brushed Champagne finish

-HRE Black Valve Stems

-255/30/21 and 335/25/22 Michelin P4S tires

-Techart Threaded Adjustable spring kit

Whistle noise, that’s one good looking 992 😜

Car rides amazingly well on the TechArt springs. No warning lights as some had mentioned/asked elsewhere. No rubbing (even with 22s in the rear). Another one done right by TAG. 👏🏼

Hi there,

I am about to do same setup as you sir! I am currently 992.2 GT3 user and I just ordered 992 turbo s for obvious reasons. :-)
However I tried to setup 992 TS to be more GT3ish with PASM -10mm/carbon roof etc and I am thinking of 21/22 rims from HRE as well.

Only question is how do you compare GT3 being track car and turbo on 21/22 rims? Is it comparable in stiffness?

Thank you very much for you opinion.

Radek, the Turbo S is much more compliant and comfortable even with springs and larger wheels than my 991.2 GT3 is on 20s. It’s amazing how well the Turbo S rides and handles. The balance between comfort and performance is nuts. Mind blowing. When you push the Turbo S it behaves like a monster with powers you can’t fathom and when you back off it drives like a lamb. Even with suspension and wheel mods. The Turbo S always wants you happy and comfortable but when you push it it reminds you why it is lauded by many. Wolf in sheeps clothing.

The GT3 is only a monster. And it doesn’t care how you feel or what you want. It punches you in throat and then wants you to apologize. An angry dragon in your moms clothing. Wait what?

The two cars are very different. Short answer; the Turbo S on springs and +1 setup is still way
more compliant and comfortable than the GT3.

The .2 GT3 is purpose built for a job. Attack race tracks making lap times and wannabes in McLarens shake while allowing you to use it as you desire on the street.

The Turbo S is like a luxury car in comparison. The fastest, best handling most visceral luxury experience you can have. But if you don’t respect it...it will gently smack you in the mouth.

the springs and wheels don’t change the character of the car but they did sharpen its feel a bit. For the better.

I would say the two cars are the best of what Porsche offers but VERY different. Porsche is the best of what the automotive world can provide, having these two is a literal dream come true. Couldn’t be more different. Couldn’t be better.

hope this helps.

Thanks! I must admit that your answer threw me away like my GT3 with no questions asked!

Thank you very much once again.

I am now looking for a wheels as well, do you please know exact specifications of yours R101LW? Is there any space for making the little more concave than from the stock? Or is it just 21/22 R101LW for 992 Turbo and thats it?

Many thanks again i very much appreciate it.
