997usa: Thanks for posting the photo of the extended door leather! To offer my opinion/answer to the OPs question: I'd pick extended door leather over extended dashboard leather if I were forced to choose. It does look nice, and in certain sunlight/glare conditions I did not like the windshield reflection of the stitching on one of my previous 911s that had the extended dash leather.

I would agree that the door sill leather look spectacular when it's brand new... but can anyone comment on whether or not it gets scuffed and marked-up over time?
I was considering this option, but I was always concerned that every time I got in/out, I'd drag my shoe across it and scuff it.

You would really need to go out of your way to scuff the leather sills so badly they couldn't simply be rubbed out with some leather cleaner.

My personal experience here is that if you want your sills to remain in virgin condition, NEVER take your car for service at the dealership. To those guys (here anyway) it makes no difference whether you're driving a 20 year old pontiac or a brand new Porsche, they treat them all the same, and they are primarily responsible for the scuffs on my sills. I cover mine with tape before taking in for any service. It's kind of exasperating.
