First off - EPIC update. All these 3RS's - on the track and not at some bull**** cars and coffee. I love love love seeing your update.
I think you were there just 3 days after my colleague was there (a few pictures that he shared with me below).
Was watching your Laguna Seca videos - great driving! I was watching the footage a bit and I think you've got more time to pick up. You're getting reps (laps) in and it's paying off. 1.5 second off your PB since your last time there!
Watching the videos (with the volume up!), there's a few sections where you can roll more speed into the corners with less brake pressure.
T3/T4 - hold onto less brake pressure and roll more speed in. I think you can get more than 1.3G!
T9 - cornering hard-1.7G! Send it like this!
Keep focusing on your "brake release rhythm" - the same way we want one consistent arc turning in, we want the same consistent release relative to the apex.
Apply your brakes at the same place, just hold on to less pressure, this will help keep the weight up front to rotate the car while slowly increasing your entry speed into the corner. Inch your way forward here and watch those times drop!
GET IT!! LESSGOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Wow that's a hell of a group your buddy was with! Any idea what it was? private day?
Absolutely plenty of time to pick up! Fastest car of the day was the organizer and he was running 50's on Cup 2 R so I'm content being 2 seconds off. Comparing laps though there is SO MUCH more time in some corners. I'm still getting comfortable with that kind of cornering speed and I'm a very cautious person on track by nature. I cannot wait to return, more time to come!
Great stuff but don’t discount the value of driving in traffic on the track. Traffic adds another element and is great practice as all club racing has moving chicanes. It’s healthy to embrace it and worthwhile to focus on safe traffic management and navigation skills.
absolutely agree. And I enjoy it if they are driving well but slower due to equipment. We can't all drive these rocket ships. It's the guys in fast cars that park in the mud on the outlap (Friday) or pirouette around the same corner 3 times in a day that make me very nervous. Also, when going for that PB you want some space to run!
Finally got a chance to get the PCCB’s I removed measured on the bench. Not a perfect comparison to my prior measurement because I did 3 track days between measurements, but I’d say the on car measurement was darn close. Close enough to where I certainly wouldn’t bother measuring off the car or worrying about it being dramatically different. If the on car measurement shows you’re at or near the wear limit, you probably are.
Have since moved on to our CTE carbon rotor offering, and will put these on the shelf for the off chance I ever sell this car or if the CTE rotors need to go back for refinishing.
Note the $15.5k PCCB cost is assuming you buy the PCCB upgrade kit, and then sell the calipers for a couple grand. If you just buy the rotors, you’re looking at a much higher cost.
Updated usage after bench measurement. One of 12 measurements needed

Thanks for taking the time and effort doing the measurements.
Looks like the rears wear a lot more than the fronts. In my 991 RS, the fronts pads lasted ~2.5x as long as the rear (ESC on) and so were the discs(iron) In the 992 RS (PCCB), the pads wear at about the same rate F/R. My 992 RS ESC is set at Dynamic in Track Mode.

What's your ESC setting when you run on track?
Yep it’s true. Has to be due to the ESC/TC settings.
For the majority of these days, I ran with the default settings in track mode. Today I typically run with TC set to 3. ESC on dynamic
First track day of 2026, back at Chuckwalla with Speed District. This is such a great facility. The cabins, firepits, and great track make for a really nice weekend.
This is my 2nd time here with this car, and 3rd time ever. Plenty of time still to be had out there for sure, especially entry speed into the bowl and the whole last sector leading to the front straight.
VBOX continues to be a great asset to have. Being able to throw a car into a turn 50 feet deeper or braking at a different point and then overlay the data on the laptop is really how I found time. I was 4 seconds faster than when I was here last, and 7 seconds faster than my 991.2 GT3. Granted, these were optimal conditions and I did 22 track days last year so I’m in better track shape than ever.
First time at a new track in this car is always fun, especially if I can benchmark it to something I've driven there before. Today I was at the "fastest track in the west", Big Willow at Willow Springs for the first time in a couple years. I have very fond memories of this track, it's where I went all the time for $99 track days in my Z06 when I was just getting started years ago.
Unfortunately the track has gone to absolute crap. The surface has always been notoriously bumpy but holy hell, it's like off roading now. Weeds growing through the surface in various areas as well.
Stopped here on the way to Laguna Seca to support my friends at Speed District and try and clock a new PB. Have never driven with the suspension rebound and compression at -4. This helped soften the blows, but the lack of rebound caused the car to feel like it was bottoming out at times. I played with it a bit but it was an extremely uncomfortable day. That and looking at the run off being composed of boulders and shrubs I decided to call it quits after a few push laps.
There are big plans for the future for this place, but I won't be back until they finish that in 3 years. Just isn't safe, and isn't that fun on that sort of surface.
VBOX doesn't like it either. it kept thinking I was next door on Streets of Willow, so my OLED and the video never recorded times. Had to rely on what was in Circuit Tools.
hi thank you. how did you get the DRS to work automatically on the track? i was clicking on it manually at every straight, and it was cumbersome.
It's always automatic. You don't do anything. You can manually open it if you want but I've never done that. If you watch my videos you can see the DRS indicator is extremely active.
