GT3RS: Msrp but wait 6years VS Pay current market value
So I put my name on a dealer out of state selling gt3rs at msrp. But the catch is I wait until my turn and I have 20 people in front. Most recent delivery was made to a guy who waited 6years. Kudos to his perseverance.
Other local dealer I have my name as number one. Said I will get a call as soon as a gt3rs allocation comes in. How did it happen? Traded in a unicorn almost at msrp.
But GM did not mention whether I would get the gt3rs at msrp or not. I didn’t ask. Maybe I should but saved the question until they contact me with an allocation. Regarding the history I would say they would charge me a reasonable market value adm like $50k ish??
What would you choose?

I'd get the car now. $50k ADM is good. I think there is way too much uncertainty in the process and the product 6 years out. Who knows what the car will be like and if you will even want it. Also, your SA or dealership can change hands and the MSRP policy could change with new owners. Who knows but I wouldn't wait.

I would get what i can get now as it give me leverage in 6 years to get what I want. My 0.2 cents. I would also not take any deal without it being in writing via email, granted email is a non binding contract but its enough to make things very awkward with PCNA.

No brainer.
You can always make more money. Time? Not so much.

How does a 6 year waiting list work for a car that will only be produced for 2 years?

Well, my closest dealer is also no ADM and has a long list….of course, if I bought the absurdly over optioned Taycan Turbo S left over on the showroom floor at sticker and a Macan I move to the top of the list…so there are lists and there are lists.

I was offered last year at $100k over. Although that seems to be the lower end, "average" ADM - I'm glad I said no. That being said, for $50k I might consider it.
Value isn't everything, but to me for a GT car ADM+MSRP has to equate about current market value. They are at about $100k over MSRP now at best, but I can't justify the car for other reasons not worth going into in this thread.
Anyway, for $50k if you gotta get that car and are feeling FOMO I suppose it's worth it. Could always ask for EU delivery and get them an additional allocation to lower the ADM. My dealer said no to that lol.

So far in this thread...
@OP, you are working with an incomplete picture. Confirm what the ADM is at the second dealer (if any) and decide from there.
- OP wants to know if he should get a car in 6 years, when the production run likely ends next year.
- Everyone is advocating that the $50k ADM is a good deal, meanwhile the dealer didn't even specify the ADM and the OP is purely speculating.

How long is a piece of string?
Out of state dealer says “6 years”; they’re politely telling you no thanks.
It sounds like you already traded something at the other dealer without an agreement…that’s not a good practice.
That they’ll call you, just means you get a shot at having “that conversation”. Have they said to expect 50K ADM?
What is your relationship with these dealers?
I’m not seeing an RS in any of this.

6 years is basically worthless. Frame it this way, do you think the following situation will actually occur?
It’s the year 2030. The 995 GT3 Spaceship edition is announced. Mr “I bought 10+ cars last few years” VIP walks into the dealership, fist bumps all the sales people, gets offered some gross Porsche 911 themed coffee from the cafe (but he makes he’s to proclaim that it is the best coffee ever like a good Porsche boy), then walks into the GM’s office. There they catch up, talk about random stuff, then the VIP asks for an allocation. GM pulls out his computer, and says “sorry man, this random guy named + 100 other people who live 2000 miles away and we’ve never met managed to get an email confirmation 6 years ago from a salesperson who doesn’t even work here anymore. We can’t get you one because we need to sell it to all these people who we’ve never met and will likely just flip the car on bring a trailer the moment it lands in their driveway.”
If you think the above scenario is plausible, then definitely wait the 6 years.
