So I’ve had the GT3 for 15 months now and I’m getting the itch to move into the GT4RS.
I test drove the car and I thought it was spectacular. I was able to find a new GT4RS at a fair price.
Trading the 2022 GT3 (w/ 8k miles) in for the GT4RS will yield 40K over sticker trade in value for the GT3. I think that’s pretty good considering it’s two years old with the miles.
Any feedback on the market for a GT4RS?
Do you think it would be a bit more stable than the GT3 market over the next 24 months?

I own both also.
The 4RS is a hoot. The 992 GT3 is the keeper. And it's not even close.
I use the 4RS for hooning / having fun. The GT3 is just a vastly more refined / better driving experience.
Okay. What's the definition of "better" ? In this instance, better means (1) more refined, (2) higher quality, (3) better balanced, (4) still faster properly set up (the 4RS needs -3 camber all the way around to optimize lap times - less exotic setup needed for GT3 to be fast), (5) can go on a date in it (and g/f will want to be in it again on the second date) and (6) you can take long trips in it and not have to take Excedrin every night.
Again, I own and drive both. Love 'em both. Different animals. The GT3 is the keeper. No contest.

I have both the 992 GT3 and 4RS. I think the GT3 is the better and more enjoyable car by a substantial margin. Loudness and jolty shifts of the 4RS are gimmicky. GT3 handles better, sharper front end, more low- to mid-range grunt, looks better to my eyes, and to my ears, sounds better and has proper sound level. 4RS being last of its series doesn’t make it a better car than the GT3. GT3 is the icon for a reason.

nobody answering this is a dealer. the leverage is trust, not financial.
selling/trading the GT3 into the 4RS allows the store to make another customer happy / make more money by selling your GT3, and they are building trust with you on the GT4RS- since you didn't put the GT3 on bring a trailer, they will trust you more later on the .2 gt3 especially if you keep the 4RS this whole time.
also - 4RS is much more rare vs GT3. Porsche brought 3x as many GT3's to USA vs 4RS

For those who only want, or only have the budget for one RS car in their garage, 9 out of 10 people (if not 10 out of 10) will choose the 3RS.
It is only those who want, or have the budget for two RS cars, will actually want a 4RS. And those people are few and far between. Don't let the noise here on RL fool you. RL is not real life.

I feel like Porsche sliced the GT car segment too fine with the 4RS.

I think 4RS would have much wider appeal if it wasn't quite so loud, smoother (not slower) shifts, and slightly softer springs.
If I could pick only one GT car, and it had to be an RS car, I would take the 4RS over the 992 3RS because:
- Less flashy
- Has front and rear trunks
- Much lower cost

Not sure about that, GT3 is more versatile than the 3RS and also costs less.

I feel very fortunate to own both a 6MT Touring and the 4RS. To me they are very different cars but it would be very hard for me to decide which car I would miss more if I had to sell one. The 4RS is rowdy may not be as planted as the 992 GT3 but the sounds this car make are unmatched by the GT3. The 992 is planted and civiilzed more sophisticated but lacks the emotion of the 4RS. The 4RS does not have the halo of a 911 but who gives a s%Jt. The 4RS is a sensational car in my opinion. Getting back to your original question I think 992 gt3 will always do a better from a resale because the dream purchase for many is 911 Gt3. So given similar price most would choose 911 because it's a 911. A 4RS is a passion purchase because once you drive one you realize it's not trying to be a 911 it is its own thing.

Actually i would prefer 991.2 GT3 RS over both.
