Can any one of you lucky folks show me a picture of the Lithium Battery they come with. I'm wondering if its the same one that came with the 992s or if they upgraded it. They had some issues like JohnArpy mentioned that when they go dead some can't be revived. Then we can start looking at making a replacement for if that happens....

Also, the lithium battery arrived DOA on a new ST at my dealership, so it doesn't appear to be an isolated matter.

+1. The first time the lithium battery dies on my ST, I plan to replace it with a regular battery. Note to 997 owners - Costco sells a larger battery than the one it came with and fits with a bit of finagling.

Also if your interested I can send you our latest Battery Tracker for FREE since you helped us out. It will allow you to keep track of you battery voltage via your cell phone and does a couple other really cool things and will send you alerts to your phone if your Battery is low. It a simple to attach does not interfer with your system whatsoever and takes about 2 minutes to attach to your battery posts. It use only 1milliamp so won't have any effect on the battery drain. You can reach out to the email in the signature if you want it, and I'll have our staff send you one. We appreciate you taking the time to get that, so THANKS!
We know that battery, it the 40 Ah version of the A123 Systems Battery, so it has lower amp Hours, but hopefully they figured out the wierd lockout problem they had with the 60Ah version. 40Ah is less Capacity than the 60Ah so keep it on a maintainer. I had a 40Ah in my 2016 GT3RS and it really didn't have much of a drain, but I know nothing about the S/T and if they have any extra parasitic draw... the older GT3s really don't have much parasitic draw at al so hopefully the S/Ts are like that.

So here's a problem I never expected. When I purchased (leased) the S/T I wasn't allowed to buy wheel and tire protection. When the dealer put in the VIN, it brings up GT3 RS which isn't eligible for any protection since it's a track car. Then my insurance said that the car was a GT3 RS. Then I wanted to replace the amber front marker lights and the dealership insisted they were the GT3 RS lights, which they are not. I had to buy Rennline markers. It is currently at the PPF shop, but I'm sure there will be more problems.

There are no wheel and tire warranty on the ST because it comes with magnesium wheels.

That makes sense but it doesn't explain why it is coded as a RS so accessories and parts are listed as RS. Even though they are magnesium wheels, they still have tires and finishes that need to be dealt with. My insurance company has my car listed as a GT3 RS. The dealership wanted to sell me GT3 RS front marker lights, and they don't fit.

A couple hundred 991.2 GT3 Touring cars were also coded as 2019 GT3 RS but I have never heard of issues with finding parts for the car.
