Now that I got my own RS and drove it back to back with 991.2 RS, I get the whole thing about this car. It isnt an exaggeration at all what they say. In some respects, its a very similar car the way it sounds and perhaps still a 911 with buckets but when you push it, it drives like a completely different car.

I will say this, this is the first time in a car that I felt the need to slow down time because too much was happening too fast. I didnt feel this way in my ZR1 with 50% more power, nor in 675LT or 720S or 750S. Its the cornering speeds and the level of ease it attains so much performance so fast, you can very easily get way over your head in this car.

That squares with the weight of my 992 GT3 (non-RS) with manual gearbox, LWB's, and iron brakes (just barely under 3,000 pounds after subtracting weight of all fuel and driver ballast). During alignment at Manthey in Germany...

2+ seconds faster on that short of a lap is an eternity. Not to mention, they did it in 81 deg heat, which is less optimal than the 55deg for the 992 GT3 and Z06 times (which is just about as good as it gets for a lap time).
Perfect illustration on just how potent the adjustability of this car can be if used properly. Car is a F-ing monster. I want one bad.

Its at least 3 seconds faster then a 991.2RS around Sebring stock VS stock, that's before figuring out the dials on the wheel, I ran on the Ring settings.
I think it will be 4 seconds faster in the end, after some fine tuning on MPSC2N2 with 240 treadwear rating VS my 991.2RS on Dunlops, the fastest non R tire in warm weather.

That's a lot, specially considering its slower then a 991.2 GT3 on the straights and about even with a 991.2RS.

Sebring is a HP track, the 992GT2RS will set some insane speeds and laptimes. Nothing will come close in lap times.

There's only like a $200 difference N2 to Cup 2 R right now, fine tune with a set of those and see what she'll do https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...S&autoModClar=

But more than a $200 difference, when you have to buy new tires 3x as frequently

Wow. I agree. I think alot of Mclaren Senna lap records will finally fall once the 2RS comes out.

Still seems like quite a steal for R vs. standard Cup 2 on 992. Closest I've seen for 991.2 is like a $500 spread.

Also not sure about (let's say) track day 3 Cup 2 R vs. same heat cycles Cup 2. The fall off on the R from new is > than standard Cup 2, for sure, but is the R really slower than standard Cup 2 at that point? I doubt it. So couple hundred more for some hero laps and to unleash full 992 RS? I'd be tempted. We're talking a pittance for 992 RS owners anyways
