PCNA claims Canadian car can’t ever use Porsche Connect in US
…. This sounds like complete bs to me.
PCNA claims that a Canadian GT3 is built with specific hardware that means that it can’t ever use Porsche Connect services in the US. I’m in the process of getting my US dealer’s opinion on this but am curious if anyone here has crossed this bridge. PCNA’s response sounds asinine to me. It would make more sense that perhaps the embedded SIM might need to be changed to work with a US carrier, but I find it hard to believe that the car is hardwired such that using Connect services in the US is impossible. To clarify, what I really care about is the basic functions (locking, seeing the car on a map, gas level etc).
Thanks in advance.

Is this PCNA or a Porsche Center?
It seems strange. They certainly COULD have country servers, privacy constraints behind not sharing data cross-country, etc but it just doesn't seem likely, and the core cellular frequencies are close enough nowadays that it probably wouldn't be different hardware either.
Also, separate but potentially related - I have seen 5 Centers that say for example they can't CPO a Canadian car and 2 that have done so.

Yes it’s PCNA. When I’m back from vacation I plan to drop it off at my local Porsche center (Porsche SF) to see what they can do (and btw they are already investigating it).

I have a 991.2 and was just told the same thing today. The Porsche connect customer service is saying that the Canadian spec will never be able to have remote functions in the US. My dealership said they couldn’t get it to input my code either to activate. Would love to know what you found out and if there is a fix.

Simple answer from what I researched is no, Porsche Connect will not work in the US on a Canadian car.

For Navigation, PCM can be converted to load US map and US Navi via mibsolution.one (need some reading)
For Connect: The con-box/Telematic Unit (module that connect to Cell network) is coded to respective country.
and sim is tied to Respective country's provider offering connect (Vodafone?) If one can change sim and ACTIVATION request is approved; connect may work.
hit @718socal he may be able to convert NAV and experience with connect.

If it is any help, I have a Canadian 991.2 GT3 RS that I purchased last year.
Nobody at the Porsche dealership I purchased the car from could explain to me what the Porsche Connect subscription could do. I decided I would subscribe and try ind figure it out for myself. The subscription process did not instil confidence as it was a super janky process that somehow involved Vodophone.
To the best of my understanding, for my $159 Canadian per year, I get gas prices, live traffic in the navigation and some web content. In the My Porsche app I get 'Does not support remote access services'. There does not seem to be any two way connection. As I use Waze for navigation with CarPlay, none of these features are of any use to me.
I have BMWs as well, and I can see the location of my car, if the doors, hood or windows are open. I can see service status, mileage and fuel level. honk the horn, but they removed remote unlocking for some reason, probably security.
Generally in Canada we get a encrapified experience with things like this as it is such a small market, with the added fun of language compliance. I am guessing that the cars destined for the US market has different hardware or different software entitlements.

Just a FYI the connect services are pretty useless. They make sense for my Taycan GTS, but the app only works about 30% of the time. No way I would ever pay on my GT3.
