What Special GT Cars are Coming?

100% of my friends want a dakar version of the 911 and 0% care about this thing I keep talking about called an ST. Of course it’s the opposite with Porsche nerds who geek out on deviated stitching. So I think time will be very kind to the Dakar, it has a broad appeal most Porsche enthusiasts don’t understand. It’s only demerit is no manual option
I’ll be curious of the next one because it will be hard to match it’s weight given the new gts is a hybrid. I’d buy a second dakar at msrp.

Dakar is 'limited' although 2500 is quite a lot of cars but it is in some way annoying that some owners are afraid to put miles on them when they are they most usable all season 992.

Will it have the Dakar's specially developed lift system which can raise the car by a further 30 mm at the front and the rear to let it reach speeds of up to 150 km/h?

A base C4 with the off road package/Dakar treatment option would be ideal. For those of us with winters could drive it year round and pile on miles without worry. But, will never happen as that would actually make sense sadly

same with me. I know a few who have parted ways with Dakar.
Starrato and Dakar are essentially the same price. Wonder if this comes it to play on the popularity of the platform. Lots of options for someone wanting this experience.

Given that the 3D has gone already off-topic ... just my small contribution as a owner of a GT3 and a Dakar at the same time.
Both are fun cars but their appeal is different:
- with GT3 you need to plan for your fun chosing the right road that can give the car room to express its greatness and you have to be committed to substantially illegal speeds to see the full 9000 rpm
- with the Dakar any horrible road full of speedbumps, broken tarmac, bumps, roundabouts can become fun even at almost reasonable speeds
Also the weather plays a role ... sunshine for the GT3 ... any weather for the Dakar.
If I can plan ahead and can commit to a special drive, then the GT3 wins, otherwise I just jump in the Dakar and try to have fun on the random errand no matter the road or the weather.
Just my small experience ... I have done with the Dakar in 8 months half the km I did in the GT3 in a few years.
Possibly a Porsche garage should have both each one for its own merit.

I sold my Dakar and regretted it but i was going to fall into the trap and not drive it like it should be driven. I want a cheaper base version that i hope comes. The person i sold my Dakar to has driven it about 17 miles in 3 months...real shame but oh well.

This is a very good video explaining why both the S/T and the Dakar are great concepts, each one for a different reason.
Actually a very informative and balanced review that I did not see until now.
The summary at the end says it all: " In the S/T you will have more fun, but in the Dakar almost as much and more often".
Also I second the observation about the road oriented tires being a better choice for cars like the GT3 Touring or the S/T ... in fact I run Pilot 4S on my Touring and not the original Sport Cups.
