.....yeah. definitely not interested in that every track season. On something like an 812 that I'd use off track I'd go for it but not this (not that I'm in the tax bracket for 500k daily drivers)

I would say anyone who can afford to pay $400-500k for a car is made of money, personally.

I doubt the vast majority of GT3RS owners will ever see a track with it. But that’s also why you have options.

Point. I suppose it takes all kinds. I certainly am not that demo. And my customers and rennlist is good at reminding me of that.

Porsche made those bits in plastic because they are the most vulnerable while on track, cheaper to replace after the sandblasting and rubber buildup that they get.
I hate seeing show cars like above.
100% . After 2 track days on mine, the plastic bits on RS are completed blasted, with nicks and marks everywhere (no wheels off). To you point about C&C, I took mine to one yesterday, and didn't bother to remove the rubber booger marks everywhere. All kinds of comments from the peanut gallery about "he's got it all scraped and beat up already!"...to where one hero remarked "at least he drives it!". I think I'm done with cars and coffee.

Cigar smoking, Daytona toting lion...it's definitely the same folks it would "resonate" with. 😂

I love the black plastic parts on the RS. I've ripped a few front splitters off and they are cheap to replace. Just the road wear alone justifies replacing them every few years. Same with rockers and mirror lowers.

Looks awful IMO and if used on track, those bits will look like **** in very short time. Why Porsche made them plastic and what this tool doesn't seem to understand.

Somehow does not look better to me.

I would replace the plastic ducts with carbon fiber that are not ground level.

But the ground level plastic is totally appropriate for this type of car.

Only 2 track days? That's concerning. I plan on tracking mine (ETA July > September) and will be taking straight to PPF but I didn't even think of wrapping the plastic parts. Do you happen to have any photos?

Side note, the boy racer in my loves all the rubber booger down the side, precisely what it was made for!

12 track days on mine and the plastic looks great. After 2 days at COTA it looks pretty rough everywhere but the ppf does its job and with a couple of hours of TLC the car looks brand new, paint and plastic.

Did you PPF the plastic also? I haven't seen it up close (my ETA Is a few months off) but I just assumed it wouldn't be super smooth so the PPF wouldn't stick to it well

I have PPFd the carbon accents on a 991.2 gt2rs and can tell you that it’s not perfect. My guys did a great job but given the angle and complexity of those components it’s very difficult to do an even semi good job. Probably cheaper to just replace the plastic parts once they’ve been torn up.

I figured as much. That was my thought process too.

I think it looks fantastic. That being said, I agree, even with PPF it's probably going to get nicked up if you track it. So, if it were me, I'd probably leave it as it came. But strictly from an aesthetic point of view, I like it. Of course I'd like CF also, but again, these parts are made of plastic for a reason.

I concur with the above, leave the plastic alone and replace as necessary. The plastic gets beat up a little but if you have a good detailer or know what you are doing you can make it look like new. PPF the paint for sure and double the PPF where the factory protection is (was). Be prepared to replace the outer layer in the places where it is doubled up as necessary also, PPF does not stick to PPF like it does paint.
