Default 2024 992 GT3RS Oil Leak, less than 2800KM

Hi all, just wanted to document an issue i faced with my recently delivered (January 27th 2024) 992 GT3RS. I noticed that my car was leaking oil in the driveway, i have only driven the car for 2700Km.

When taking the car to the dealership today, and after they removed the rear diffuser and the shield underneath the transmission area, we noticed that there was a huge yellowish oil leak.

The car has been taken in for further inspection, and was given a Macan as a replacement car.

From what I have seen on the forums it’s seems that this is from PDK transmission. Hopefully nothing serious, I did follow the break in instructions up to 1500km, and the car has never been tracked.

Will keep you posted on updates.

There is a TSB for PDK leak.

Not sure the details of it, but it listed on the TSB list on Rennlist under 911.

A 992 GT3 RS at the Porsche Austin (North) dealer had a PDK leak, it turned out to be a manufacturing defect. It was covered under warranty, as it should be.

yeah the only thing that would really annoy me if that’s the case is that the car will be taken apart and engine taken out. So just to be clear was the whole PDK transmission replaced ?

Yes I believe the whole PDK was replaced as a unit.

As far as i know they always replace the whole unit as one replacement directly. Just like they do with engines failure they used to replace the whole unit completely.

Im sorry to hear that about your car and hope they can sort it out ASAP before our summer hits.

I would feel the same except engines come out of 911's all of the time given the design of the car so I can't imagine it is a big deal for the techs. It's not a one off thing for them so I wouldn't worry too much about it if that is needed.

Hopefully they updated me today that the leak is from the gear breather, they have sent the report to Porsche and awaiting their reply. Seems like the engine and gear box will come out either way, and there is a possibility that the whole PDK transmission gets replaced.

I think that’s what happened to the car in Austin. The transmission pops out of these cars remarkably easy.

just an update, dealer confirmed that they will replacing the whole PDK unit, they just put in the order for it to Porsche. Hopefully they have it on stock, could take anywhere between two weeks - a month depending if it’s available or on back order.

Was just told I had a leak also and they're saying it's the oil filter or seal.

They said it only leaked when the car was still and not when being driven. Did you have a similar issue?

If so, maybe I have a PDK issue and they're wrong.

Missing the last track days of summer

Brand new car - 2500kms.

Did you get yours fixed for the summer?
