the whole thing is BS IMHO…if there’s a “painted” coating already on lens from factory, it’s no different than a plastic one adhered to it

having ppf on headlights doesn’t affect any heat issues

it’s Simply because when film is removed, headlight delaminates, and some owners want a new headlight as a result…I don’t blame Porsche for making a blanket statement and voiding warranty under the circumstances

in the end, it’s the owner’s choice…warranty with pitted headlights, or pristine headlights with POSSIBLE warranty issues down the road

to void a headlight warranty due to a motor or lens or chip failure, and claim ppf was the direct cause, will be an interesting one to prove

i’m sure some of you attorney members could elaborate

so basically…

100% chance your headlights will look **** w/o ppf

vs.

1% chance of delaminating

I think I know what I’ll do

sort of…it really depends on the film and installer

you MUST have an installer that has ample experience removing/installing ppf on Porsche headlights

even then, there is a risk, but probability is very low

we’ve done thousands of headlights, and I can count on one hand the delamination…but we specialize in Porsche since 1995, so can’t speak for anyone else

when you call the installer, you should hear the confidence in his/her voice …if you don’t, move on to the next choice

That's the key right there.

Whether its for the headlights only, or the entire car, or just part of the car, with PPF ... always buy the installer, not the product.

+1…it’s getting harder for consumers though

Porsche doing PPF/ceramic option during build, then lord knows who’s actually installing it

dealers not giving allocation unless PPF/ceramic done at their dealership

ppf/ceramic manufacturers “authorizing” daily with just a 1/2 day seminar

if the YouTube, TilTok, and IG looks good, they must be the best, right?

Hence why prices have tanked and everyone thinks they can do the craft…even DIY

it’s scary to see the cars coming to our shop now that we have to fix…I’ve never seen it like this before in 30 years

There are plenty of shops still enjoying their craft of decades of knowledge, wanting to serve their customers/community, have no intention of scaling up to sell, etc.

They just enjoy dedication to their career and making people’s day better with the skills God/Uinverse gave them

seek them out if it’s value to you 👌

I didn't bother to search.
I simply posted it for reference in case someone else had the time.
I don't.

Competition is good though... if an installer is not doing a good job in a competitive market, that business will fail

Not everyone wants to pay $12k for full PPF on a consumable, they may be perfectly fine to get a 95% good PPF at $5k....

if an installer keeps delaminating customers' headlights, i doubt they will stay in business, or at the very least won't offer that service
