It's really no different (to me) than the way I use and think about my valuable watch (Patek). It is not a "numbered" watch but it is quite rare nonetheless. I appreciate its rarity but that does not stop me from wearing it on a daily basis, since I purchased it (without an ADM!) in 2017. A "valuable" timepiece or vehicle has little to no "value" to me if it is not being used. No garage queen car or safe king watch in my household. My daily driver, 2019 Touring, has 26,500 miles on it. Whenever I see a low-mileage 991.2 Touring (say, 5,000 miles or less) on the auction block, I think to myself: What a shame that brilliant car has not been driven!

As it should be. Whether it’s cars or watches I find the following rule applies :

Either you own IT, or IT owns you.

Moral of the story is this. If you are lucky enough to own one of these cars you should drive it. I am ! The values of these cars will remain for a long time whether you drive it or not. The .2 WILL be considerably more expensive and that alone carries everything previous.

I started this thread to learn more about GT3 production and am grateful for the info posted, especially showing color choices. I would love to know which PTS colors have been ordered, equipment etc. There is a registry of 991 Tourings with photos of the cars which I find interesting.

This is not about value, rarity or depreciation. This is about a ca r that is more than just a means of transportation or an investment.

In my opinion, cars are a depreciating asset and should be enjoyed. Driving a Touring is certainly the best way of enjoying it, but I would not wrong anyone for getting enjoyment from their Touring by just looking at it. With so many customization options, such as PTS, Exclusive Manufaktur interior, seat inserts etc, every Touring is unique.

Imagine owning one of these beautiful machines and hiding it in your garage to keep the miles down, what an embarrassment…

Production started 2 days ahead of schedule. We'll see if it's impacted with the Carbon issue since the roof is Carbon selected.

Can anyone posting numbers also provide the source of their information and any assumptions (US or worldwide, PDK or manual, etc.) linked to them, when not obvious?

Well it's here! Haven't had a chance to drive it and trying to figure out a hiccup with the dealer.... but the spec turned out lovely as expected and the Mojave interior fits the spec perfectly. Hopefully get to drive it soon(only was drove 5min to the gas station at midnight for gas since it was dropped with 18miles til Empty). Then the hurricane hit and been pulling trees out of houses since. Soon enough I'll get some break in miles, til then... back to driving the really fun stuff!

Wow! That thing is beautiful. I wouldn't have expected that combination to appeal to me so much but it is perfect. Congrats!

100%! City of Houston literally makes it an act of congress for the homeowners to cut them down. Its dumb as hell.

The really crap part is this Hurricane really wasn't that bad of a storm and highlights how un prepared Houston is for a real Hurricane.

I live in Houston as well... no trees, but no power still... 3rd world infrastructure if you ask me.
Is the GT3 touring new, or just new to you?
2024 MY.
I got one as well that I took delivery of 2 months ago. We should meet!
