I have 18-way T seats with agate grey stitch, sport Tex center and “911” headrest logo…
probably not what you are looking for, but if you are selling the buckets I’m a buyer!!

Some progress today - I received the 991.1 GT3 seat I purchased from @G-Dub - thanks! They are beautiful, nearly flawless examples. Unfortunately, they are missing the seat belt receivers, and I have not received the replacements I ordered yet, so at the moment, no real way to completely verify they will work in the 992 as without the receivers, it will through a code. . .

However, I did install the seats in my 2022 GT3 Touring - perfect fit, and the plugs are identical. I powered up the car, and as expected, it throws an airbag fault. However, in looking through PIWIS, it appears the fault is related to the absence of the seat belt receiver - when I examine the airbag resistance values, they appear very close to the values from the 992 seats. All the power functions of the seat work perfectly.

I've read in others posts here that the 991 seats "won't fit" in the 992 platform - this is patently false. They fit perfectly, and as far as shape and form, are VERY similar to the 992 18 ways (I compared them to the 18 ways in my 992 TTS). Consequently, Im increasingly confident that all 991 generation seats will be interchangeable into the 992.

I should receive the belt receivers this week, and once I install those, I should be able to complete this experiment.

beautiful 991.1 18 ways

Controls are silver as opposed to black on the 992 18 ways - easy enough to paint, but they actually look OK in my GT silver GT3T

Huh I wonder if 992 sofas would fit in a 991. I could use a set.

Success! I receive the missing seat belt receptacles today, and made an interesting discovery - turns out the 991 receptacles are NOT compatible with the 992 belts - the tangs on the 992 belts are slightly shorter and won't latch into the 991 receptacles. Thus, swapping 991 seats into a 992 will require updating the seatbelt receptacles to the 992 version. I used PNs 992-857-755-D and 992-857-756-D (about $175 each). Unfortunately, Porsche also changed the the wiring on the newer receptacles, so swapping requires splicing in the connector off of the 991 receptacles and extending the wires a bit (two wires). Also the mounting tab is slightly different, so will require either a small modification to the 992 bracket, or swapping the bracket off of the 991 unit.

However, once the 992 seatbelt receptacle is adapted to the 991 seat, it works perfectly and all functions are available. I haven't receive the new center console switch panel that includes the seat heat switch, but I don't foresee any issues installing that panel (just a CAN bus connection).

Swapping 992 seats into a 991 chassis will also require changing the seatbelt receptacles - the PN for the 991 version (this is for my 991.1 18 way seats) is 991-803-183-00 and 991-803-183-05 (about $176).

Good news is that it appears ANY seat from 991 or 992 vehicles can be retrofit into and 991 or 992 chassis with only a swap of the belt receptacles. Euro versions will require passenger occupany sensor installation, which is covered in other posts referenced here. I was able to download all the wiring diagrams for 992 generation seats if anyone needs them . . .

991 on the left, smaller 992 on the right

this is the 992 bottom bracket - will need to sightly modify this, or swap to the 991 bracket.

this is the 991 bracket that matches to my 991.1 seats.

the 992 version uses a short dongle that connects to a sub harness - to use these you will need to cut off this connector and extend the wiring directly to the seat connector and reuse the 991 connector. . .

Not sure if anyone would be interested but I’d like to swap my brand new 2024 992 14 ways with 930 leather pkg and crests for the same set in 18 way. Located in Austin.

I have just finish installing 997 folding buckets into 992 GT3 RS, i can confirm for sure that also other brands ofpassenger occupancy sensor work if the seat that you want to install dosent have that.
I have used one from Audi, 8P4963553A(30 EUR from salvage) the senzor can very easy be inserted under the seat cusion and conected to 992 wiring loom.
Also i inserted the airbag socket from folding seat into the 992 loom socket and used the seatbelt buckle from 3RS as the one from 997 dosent fit.
I should have now working airbags and no SRS errors.

did you actually get that sensor ECU to program and calibrate the seat sensor? there are 100s of different versions of the PODs sensor ECU, and very few of them can be programmed by PIWIS, and unless you can program and calibrate the PODS sensor, you will get an airbag fault.

No, i have not done any ECU work, dont have the PIWIS software, i only erase the 5 x SRS errors using my iCarsoft VER3.0 Porsche.
I had this errors: - driver buckle
-driver seat positioning
-passanger buckle
-passanger positioning
-passanger occupancy

Will try to test the seat occupancy sensor tomorrow, where someone will seat in the bucket and not have the seatbelt on.
More difficult was to fine the seat occupency wires in the loom )

It absolutely will not work unless you program and calibrate with PIWIS - and you might have to reprogram your airbag ECU as well - it's very finicky . .

Will this kit be plug and play on converting Euro LWB to work with US cars? Piwis calibration still required?

There is no “plug n’ play” for an EU to US car. My buckets are from a ‘23 GT3 in Germany, and I still need to code the occupancy sensor. BlackHarborGarage updated the passenger seat sensor, harness, etc. to work in a North American car, but PIWIS is still necessary for the car to recognize the sensor. I used my seatbelt receptacles from my original 4-way seats.

Thanks for the info. So once the necessary parts are installed, the dealer should be able to program so that Air Bag light will be turned off.

Yes! If you have a cool service department, it shouldn’t take more than an hour (…it actually only takes 10-15 minutes). If you have a local PIWIS whiz, that would be a great route too.

From my understanding, the airbag will still deploy if it senses a passenger. It’s just a weird error code that needs to be cleared.
