Default Foggy/hazy windshield

Has anyone else noticed a foggy/hazy windshield with the light weight glass? My first thought was it was due to a climate gradient - appears to go away with the defroster, however it appears to occur regardless of temperature/humidity. Any clues?

off-gassing of the car interior. comes off easily with invisible glass cleaner. haven't tried, but i wonder if you get less of it by keeping windows open.

Same here. I know this was discussed before but did anyone find a good product to help this? Maybe this?

On the far (passenger) side, I had a super clear portion of glass that undoubtedly occurred due to a piece of paper tacked on the inside of the windshield with Port tracking info on it. Chock it up to "off-gassing" during it's voyage with all of the windows rolled up. Everything else around it appeared "cloudy" in a certain light. Took a long time to get rid of it with repeated use of my Chemical Guys Glass Cleaner. Months. Perhaps something "stronger" would have done the trick right away.

Have the exact same thing on mine with the paper spot. The windshield has been, so far, the only source of frustration as it looks cloudy constantly. I've tried 3 different glass cleaners, a Mr Clean magic eraser, the Sonax pad, two different glass cleaning towels - nothing works on a permanent basis. It'll look like I've finally gotten it cleaned up and a week later looks like I'm back at square one. I think I might have a detailing place try using a buffer on it in the spring.

Gyeon prep and a microfiber will knock that haze out. Just outgassing of the adhesives and chemicals. I had it on my car and this did the trick.

If you don’t have Prep then just use a diluted alcohol water solution. I don’t use glass cleaner in any of my cars whatsoever.

This is a staple on my detailing cart. I use this for all the glass, piano black, mirrors, and I use it as an APC for coated surfaces. Works wonders to lift the last bit of oils from leather after using a leather cleaner you can use a light mist of prep on a microfiber will make that leather nice and matte without the chemical feel of just wiping away leather cleaner.

Agree with dixonk. I've switched over from using dedicated glass cleaners to IPA. I use carpro eraser but theyll all work well. Just make sure you use liberal amounts. Like douse the glass/mirror and wipe well.

I wanted to post a update that applying ceramic coating to the glass and Rain-X Interior Glass Anti-Fog BOTH solved the problem for me (after trying all of the above products).

I have applied ceramic coating to half the windshield and rain-x to the other half. I will post periodic updates to show which one ended up having a more durable effect.

Just purchased Rain-X Interior Glass Anti-Fog $4 @ local Walmart. See how it does.
