I am on the dealer allocation list for a 992.2 GT3.
The earliest delivery date is 2 years away (probably 2-3 years away), I am good with that.
It's all about getting in earlier than the next guy. I'll still keep my 2023 Porsche 911 Turbo which hasn't had it's first free-service yet. It's a great car that needs a 2026/2027 GT3 parked next to it.
I would say stay infront of your dealership, I used to be on waiting lists for the last 10 years with 6 dealerships, never any movement.
I found out now how to do it, call them every couple months keep your name infront of them, and tell them you will pay dealer-markup over the guys in line. Now these dealerships call me, I scored GT3 and a GT3T all in the same month. Then again, I buy on emotion don't really care about the cost (Of course I care $, but don't have a problem paying top of market). Yah, I'm the guy that drives prices up, sorry folks....
That seems correct which is fine. I could move up if a few guys drop out?
The Porsche ICE brand is doing everything perfectly. As a loyal customer, I get on a list. The dealership gets an allocation from Porsche N.A., and they call customers for an order off the Porsche build site. You build the car and get a conformation. The car arrives in Jacksonville (southern east coast cars), and you get a notification on the Porsche app. They call you to come pick it up. You bring a check.
The Taycan and their future in EV cars seem to have a lot of issues. Tesla is kicking their butt. I don't care as I'll never buy EV as I think it is like dating a ugly fat chick. I'll pass.
