C40 Mobile One Oil - Low Oil Warning (1500 miles over the last Service!)
#31
I bought 8 bottles from AutoZone today, about $12/bottle. I can post photos if requested, but it says "Porsche C40" on the back and the UPC code is 71924-47113. A local NAPA store also appears to have it in stock but I didn't end up having to go there.

UPDATE - so I found the right C40 NSP X3 0W-40 oil but I must have put too much in because now it says OIL OVERFILLED. DRIVING PERMITTED. Service needed.
so it was near empty, I put in approx 1.5qt (I should have just did .5qt. I’m an idiot.
It’s a Yellow warning on the dash not Red.
Question is… Is it ok to drive it with potentially .5qt over the max fill? Just drive it till it runs it off and get the the appropriate level?
I tried to snake down a tube to pump some out out the tube wouldn’t hit any oil reserve. I’ll have to lift the car up and drain a bit of oil I guess, but how hard is that to do? I wouldn’t even know where to start. (What tools are needed, is it just loosening the screw? Are there any parts than need to be replaced when doing this? What torque does it need to be to re-tighten etc). Maybe I should just get an oil change done or do it fully myself.
:/

By the way, the difference between what you call empty (still has over 7 liters of oil when no green bars) and full is only 1 liter. Optimum level is 3/4.

Looking at doing my first oil change on my 992 at 1,500 miles. If anyone in SoCal wants the correct oil to pickup in person let me know. I get them directly from my Mobil distributor.

I found that the GT cars that I have owned and followed proper break in burned oil lots. The others where I let the engine warm up and drove “normally” without following break in didn’t need much if any oil afterwards. 🤷🏻♂️

Mine has 1,100 miles on it and just poured a bit over half a quart in to get it to the 3/4 level.
