Is this "change oil cold" procedure required for the first oil change, or for every oil change? In other words, does the new plug #9GT1156478 somehow address the problem? Thank you all for the good info.
The new plug will definitely help, but if you DIY it’s not much trouble at all to always break loose cold (and that’s my plan). If you go to dealer, that might be too inconvenient (since oil will be hot when you get to dealer).
If you do your own oil changes, it's much easier to continue to break plug loose while cold (even after using the new style drain plug). But if it breaks, I guess it's better if it happens at dealer.
