Default Akrapovic Exhaust without Headers?

For the 992 GT3, what’s the opinion about running the Akra exhaust and not adding the headers?

I’ve landed on Akrapovic, just not sure if it will be the center muffler and slip on adapters OR center muffler and headers.

If you do add the headers, do you need to tune the car? Do you also need to add 200 cel cats, do they require a tune? I’m very much against having to mess with a computer. That being said, if I’m not doing a tune, am I really getting my moneys worth out of the Headers?

Anyone with feedback or experience on the 992 GT3 Akra options?

thanks much!

You can always run the rear section exhaust and add the headers afterwards if you decide you need headers as well. You will need to buy the slip on exhaust and the adapter to allow the slip on exhaust to fit with the factory headers that you would avoid purchasing if you bought the headers at the same time as the slip on exhaust.

Akrapovic refers to needing a tune to eliminate a check engine light due to the removal of the particulate filter. The particulate filter has not been a part of US 992's until the GT3 version was introduced. US turbos and Carrera do not use a particulate filter whereas all Euro versions of 992 models use it.

If you have any other questions you can reach out to me at (310) 533-8900.

You can check out exhaust versions here.

To run the rear section only and not change header or cats you would run these 2 together.

I'd say run the slip on and the adaptors first for now, see how you like it and then add the headers if you want more.

Although going that route will have more labor costs since you have to take apart the rear twice.

We have all 3 units in stock if interested.

I'm surprised we haven't heard from more owners and their thoughts with the slip on. I would have thought Akrapovic would have been a solid choice when going the aftermarket route.

Every system except 1 we have sold was a complete system for both Akrapovic and Kline.

Does the Akrapovic full system install trigger a CEL?

BUMP on this one. From what I gather, because it has 200 cel cats in this evolution Akra system it does not.

*however 200 cel cats did throw a code in my 2021 Carrera C2

On the Dundon site, it does say no CEL or tune needed for the same type of setup: https://www.dundonmotorsports.com/pr...non-eu-version

I hope this is the case, since I’ve ordered the full setup and not going with a tune.

Clarification would be good. My dealership said they are ok with full aftermarket exhaust systems as long as the car is not tuned.
