Default Lap time 992 3RS

Yawn… a few seconds faster vs. the 19 3RS yet loses street-ability and adds all those lovely plastic bits.

Difference is about 11.6 seconds - new car using the new longer lap (please see GT3 RS thread above that has discussed this at length). Conditions were not optimal and 991.2 used ace, Kévin Estre.

ap comes off like hes apologizing for lack of motor by saying rs porves how important aero, balance, etc is for making fast laps. sounds like excuse to me as top of line porsche should have aero, balance, etc in addition to a big motor. but maybe thats coming in the 992.2rs?

That's quite sad they couldn't beat the black series AMG GT; you can rationalize it any which way you like but they are a second short. Should have tried harder or added 20 more PS to get it done. That's a marketing epic fail

Is it me or does anyone else feel like that driver made many small mistakes in driving the car (not that I could drive it any faster)? Also, how does the top speed of the 992 GT3RS compare to the 991.2 GT3RS in the long straights?

At expectations.....~10sec faster than 992 GT3/991.2 GT3 RS. 10 years ago no one would have thought it was possible for a street car w/ NA 4.0l and ~525 HP.

Aero and suspension on this car is MAXED out, next Gen will need significantly more power or hybrid to re-set the bar.

Only thing I perceived was maybe some push in the car toward the start of the lap, like tires were still coming up to temp. But this is armchair quarterbacking at its finest.

Bug strike at 3:28 might have cost a tenth... Right in line of sight too

what a sh*t lap - not impressive at all - virtually anyone on this forum could do better - my Chevy Bolt would be faster - you should all skip this car and wait for the next generation - Porsche has clearly lost it's way and will never ever make a car as good as [insert your previous favorite porsche 911 here] - nothing to see here - I wasn't at all tense watching that lap as the car was navigating the famous 'ring - I think there are many many cars that would be faster - 90% of what drives off the lot will be faster than this car…OMG it's just sooooo bad I can't stand it...

if you think that is impressive you dont' know what impressive actually means - the bug strike alone tells you it was all CGI - but it's a nice touch to make it look "authentic" - pure marketing BS and no actual advances in vehicle dynamics or abilities - the driver they got was a hack and has no business driving the car or being on the ring - and you can tell it's fake cause there were no other cars - hello - the ring is a public toll road - wheres the other cars?

100% fake - not true - no one will buy this POS - and you should all get your head examined if want one of these things - didn't make me want one at all -nope - no one bit - I'm not going to beg/plead with my local dealer for an allocation of a street car with DRS for no purpose.

OMG it's just sooo bad...

oh wait I'm going to watch it again -

Yes if you watch the YouTube dude dissects some of the lap and there are areas where the wrong gear was selected and some under steer invoked.

Still, amazing lap and more than sufficient demonstration of the car’s potential IMHO, but looks as if there was another second in there (according to dude who spends way too much time watching that track!) if beating the AMG was their goal
