Great weekend at Barber
I Attended a PCA event at Barber Motorsports park in Alabama (well run as usual). First time ever on that track. Wow, it's got to be the most beautiful facility in the US. The attention to detail is on a whole other level One of those track you want to carry around some sand in case you go off and make a divot in the grass. It's a flow track with just a couple hard braking zones. We went up with a big group and had a great time learning the track. Hurts to but 2000 miles on the car, but worth it.
This is by NO means a good lap time (1:35.4), but gives you a sense of the track. I have data from a good friend who was 2.5 seconds faster in a PDK. He's a better driver, but it was also clear PDK and CUP2s are > than manual and goodyears. He was hitting higher g's and acceleration was a bit faster, and PDK shifts compared to my lazy manual shifts got him about 5mph in the straights.

Heading back for a Porsche class at Barber in 4 weeks. Looking forward to trying out the PDK GT3 on the track.

I live here in Birmingham and have a 992 GT3 Python Green car due any day now. Hit me up next time you're in town. I live right downtown in Birmingham near UAB's southern edge of campus.

Congrats!. Yes, that track is a ton of fun.. I drove my Gulf Blue 991.1 GT3 all the way there and back.. 800 miles but worth it! PCA Alabama organizes a DE event for several levels of groups 3 or more times per year.

Don’t sell yourself short, 1:35s is moving. I was able to get into upper 1:33s in my 992 GT3 last spring, was running Goodyears. Curious if you have data or vid from 1:32 lap, would love to see where I can gain time…besides being old, overweight and a non-pro driver! My car is stock except for Ferodo 1.11 pads.

Hello everyone,
I attended a Porsche Driving school event last month.(2 day) Loved the track, I want to take my car there. Hopefully we can all get together and go at the same time. Personally I think that would a blast.
If we can get a group together, count me in!
I’m heading to Road Atlanta mid November (12th and 13th) if anyone else is going, it would be great to meet up.
