New GT-3 or Ferrari Scuderia
I am a big time Porsche guy - have owned 9 of them and my current car is a 2010 GT-3 that I love but my car ADD is kicking in again so I'm on the prowl for a possible replacement. Today a Scud is $300K - $330K - same range as new GT-3 with ADM. Obviously the GT-3 is new with modern technology but for a weekend thrill car many articles I have read seem to favor a Scud? Also, does anyone have a crystal ball on what will be worth more in 5 years - a Scud or 992 GT-3? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Oh wow, So I sold my 991.2 3rs a year ago because I just missed manual and the LwB suckkkkkk for regular driving. Just got my gt4 manual of which I’m obsessed with, they’re SO much more fun than the 991/992 gt cars imo, albeit much less “prestige” and not a “911” idc tho, I value fun over all
BUT! I also have a scud (got almost 6 years ago) of which I could have gotten rid of and thrown the gt3rs in its spot instead. Let me tell you, the scud should be worth 5x+ what the 991.2gt3rs is, it’s that special.
If you want to buy which car will drive better to todays standards get the 2022 Gt3, for value in 5 years the scud will be worth minimum 2x the 992gt3. Id literally bet my whole bank account on that. But I also don’t personally care as I’m keeping that car for life.
In 5 years my guess is 992 Gt3 is 150k and scud might be 400-500 at that point who knows
992 Gt3 is not a collectible, far from it albeit a great car! Scuderia is a very small blip in time amazing racecar Ferrari built at the end of their amazing N/A reign

I have owned Ferrari SCUD since around 2012 or so and also a 2018 GT3 touring and now a 2019 GT3 touring with a 992 Touring (6spd).incoming.... I think at the end o the day the scud is one of the most underappricated Ferraris and therefore under priced It has the SF2 F1 trans mission the only other car with this trans if the 599GTO... Tough call on which to get the Scud is more exciting in my feeling but for a daily driver maybe the GT3..I have the SCUD as a car I will not sell

I had a scud last year. Put over 6000km on it in about 8 months. I traded for a incoming 4RS(and a macan GTS). I think the 4RS will be potentially similar in character.
Unfortunately I had a lot of issues with the scud. I bought a low K car. Spent years looking for the “right one”. Did in depth inspections/compression testing, spent well over 40k on it while I owned it. Broke down in the middle of nowhere more then once. In the end I just didn’t feel confident in it.
Thats my experience, would be happy to discuss further if you PM me. Have a 992 GT3 as well. I’d take that any day of the week for the manual and quality especially if your going to hit the track.
I buy real estate for investments… yet I think 4RS should do just fine.

I have a 16M Scuderia and love it. Extremely engaging, visceral and fun. Would not use as daily driver….better for point A to point A mountain drives. I also love 911 GT cars and have two manual versions. If you swap cars often and want a fun weekend car that is a more analog driver vs current models I think you should at least experience a Scud. Life is short

Thanks for your comments...reliability of the Scud or a Ferrari for that matter is somewhat of a concern. Agree that a car is not an investment; appreciation in value is icing on the cake.

If you get one I would recommend taking the time to learn how to use that specific transmission properly. It’s very unique and unlike any I had previously experienced. I have no doubt that was part of my negative experience as I drove the car very hard and didn’t at first appreciate that it’s not a PDK. There are some good videos out there that are really in depth.

Paul, I have owned 2 Scuds and a 16M. Now own GT3 Touring and some other fun. The key to this proposition requires you to honestly answer (for yourself) how much you want to drive the Scud or GT3. If you want to drive the Scud, don't bother with the purchase because everyone with the crystal ball on future values failed to mention that Ferrari has EVERYTHING to do with having NO MILES on the car. Find a Scud with 25K miles and you find a drastically different sale price. Also, the last of the single clutch in the Scud is "romantic" but very outdated and wears on you if you plan to put miles on the car. As a prior owner, I really enjoyed them and see the value of owning one that gets driven 2000 miles per year and gets put on a lift the remainder of the time. Awesome artwork

Thanks for your reply - good food for thought.
