That's correct.
RSC3 is still a valid choice. it's close to RSC1 but more aggressive.
I talked about this with ST staff and they were OK.
RSL1 is even more agressive than RSC3.

Are there any specific characteristics of the Pagid pads that make them compatible and not others?

I guess it's just a recomendation and you could try others brands but because of the price of the discs I would stick to Pagid.

My Pagid RSC1 pads that I got originally for my 992 GT3 are compatible with my RS.

RS pads made by pagid from the factory.

I always Go with the RSC1 on PCCB. They enough for Go on Tracks and Daily.

RSC2 says it's for rotors with high content of fibers, while RSC3 says it's for rotors with low content of fibers. My question is: how can both RSC2 and RSC3 both be recommended for the same rotor? It seems like either the RSC2 or the RSC3 (but not both) would work for a particular rotor.

And this raises the question, do our PCCB rotors (992 GT3 and GT3 RS) have a low or a high content of fibers? Does anyone know the answer to this? It seems like fundamental info to make the correct brake pad decision.

The only reason they have officially approved these compounds comes down to the testing and data that they have from these specific compounds. This isn't to say other compounds won't also work well/great, they just haven't tested so can't back another compound/manufacturer. That said, yes RSC2 and RSC3 will work, but based on user feedback and demand, the RSC2 is becoming obsolete. RSC3 is still available but many are finding that RSL1 works similarly to RSC3, and is more readily available. PFC has also tested their 331/11 and 332 compounds with these with excellent results. I think we will find most compounds will work just fine on these discs, but can't speak to longevity. Between the Pagid and PFC offerings, there are plenty of compounds available to suit your needs.
