Porsche Charge o mat Pro
Gents, could someone help me here please?
Say I come back from a drive. I turn the car off, I plug the charge socket into the 12V in the footwell. I then turn it on at the wall and select the Lithium battery mode. All done within say 2 mins of turning the car off. I come back an hour or so later and the Power light is flashing (green I think). What am I doing wrong? This is for a 992 GT3 and I believe I am following the instructions correctly but clearly I am not! Thanks.

Mark, you are out of sequence.
1) after a drive, turn off car
2) plug into footwell
3) plug into wall outlet
4) select lithium mode
5) lock door
If it times out, just re-select lithium mode again.

I assume you got that verbiage from the OM of the battery maintainer. I have the CTEK MXS 5.0 and what is described in the verbiage doesn't seem to apply to me as I don't need to lock it or anything.
1. Finish driving the car, turn off ignition and remove key.
2. Plug in cig adaptor into footwell plug.
3. Plug into wall outlet and actually don't select anything as it auto detects.
4. Walk away and no need to lock my car since it's in my garage.
5. Check in a day or so to make sure all is good and it has never faulted or anything. It cycles up through the stages and sits at, I believe, second to last stage for about a week or so and then it cycles up to the very last stage after between 1-2 weeks.

Turn on ignition. (It had been 3 or 4 hours since I previously drove the car)
Plug in 12V to footwell
Plug other end into wall and turn it on.
Wait a couple of mins then turn off ignition.
Lock the car.
Let's see how it goes longer term!
Thanks everyone.

Just as an update on this. It seems doing the above works for a few days then it seems to stop working. I bought a Ctek Lithium charger and have it plugged into the foot well and it seems to work continuously, even managing to come back on after a power cut and continue working without me having to do anything in the car. So for those that are having issues with the factory one, may be better to buy a Ctek.

The 12V does not seem to work correctly with the Porsche charge o mat.
The simple solution is to hardwire directly to the battery. I have been using this approach for weeks and no issues.
Also, once hardwired there are no specific steps you have to follow. Just make sure the charger is plugged in and select the mode is selected -- that is it.

I totally agree. Many folks got the Porsche charge o- junk for free so we are using that charger. If I was going to purchase one, I would have purchased the Ctek charger.
On the other hand, all may Porsches have some kind of hardwiring to the battery. The others use Battery Tender with no issues.

This. You need an alligator clip. I just did it over the weekend. Same issue as it didn't charge.
I even made a reel for it. It is now charging without any issues.

You need to connect it at the battery with alligator clips (12V outlet times out)

Yes, the alligator clips work, but why would you use them when you can have it permanently hardwired? They are not flat and can come off when the vehicle is running.
You have to take off the plastic cover. Sorry, I just don't get the alligator clips when there are simpler/better solutions. When I pull the car in the garage, I just pop the trunk and plug in the connector, close trunk - done.
By the way, I love the lift and wish I could have one of those in my garage.
