I’m not letting any cat of the bag.

But… (this might be a long train of discombobulated thought) they closed Werks 1 for an extensive gutting and remodel and moved things to the second floor of Werks 4. Now in the move someone either completely by accident or brilliant marketing, they have in the corner of the new office in Werks 4 a Magnesium wheel in the communication color of the ST.

There are pictures floating around of the design office of Werks 4.

Maybe a Euro thing but the term "communication color" had me scratching my noggin' - I assume this is analogous to "launch color"

Dealer told me today that my chances of getting ST are slim to none. Did give me a 3RS allocation a month ago though and told me I could have a Spyder RS as well, so 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Made it sound like 918 owners would get most and if he gets 1, the owner of the dealership will probably take it.

I could swap my SC for an ST ... nothing I have seen so far makes me want to when I could happily just add a Touring and get 99% of the ST driving experience.

I hope I'm wrong and AP has a massless flywheel under the sofa cushions.

the 992 touring flywheel is already quite lighter than 991.2 to the point where in the manual version it blips the throttle between upshifts to prevent revs dropping too much....

Considering this option as well but not sure what the net gain is. SC is rarer than ST. SC is very enjoyable and quite pretty. Is ‘lightweight’ NA worth the switch over turbo

I passed on allocations for a Touring and 3RS in hopes of getting the ST. Now my dealer says my odds are worse than slim and none for the ST. Oh well.

That sucks for you. I do currently have a 992 GT3 that I got almost 2 years ago. I told them today I would trade it in on the Spyder RS. Don't see a reason to keep it with a 3RS coming.

that is very short sighted considering the car hasn't been released!

For the driving experience, I'd prefer the NA engine, especially the one they'll put in the ST. For the turbo experience, I prefer an electric car. Not to knock on turbo engines (Porsche makes a great one), but I feel like EV's eclipse them in performance and both turbo and EV's keep evolving and just keep getting better whereas the NA's are at the dusk of existence and availability.

Sorry. I expect that story to be the case almost everywhere in the US.

he wanted you to buy the touring and 3rs and trade it back to him.

I said considering, not dismissing the idea. I was simply sharing my current thinking based on available information about the ST but of course waiting for unveiling. i have a few inbound cars and limited space, so not everything is a keeper
