I actually use the 991.2 Cup 2 N1 tyre on my Pista as it has shown to be faster and better than the K2, I have also run it back to back with the 240 Connect version, and the 180 is the faster shoe. As my contact at Michelin says, it's a somewhat more street friendly version of the original 180 version. He tells me that they tend to refer to them as the "sport" and "track" version internally.
Got it! I needed more coffee before posting!

Recently switched from Cup2s to Pirelli PZeros on 992 gt3 touring. Started noticing a droning noise in the cabin at 50kmh+, almost like “buffeting” or wind noise but with windows down. The tech at the dealer drove it for 10 min and says its coming from tires and I should check with my tyre guy. (without thorough inspection the tech says mechanically all good, nothing in the steering).
I suspect I will have a bit of a discussion with the tyre guy whether “this is normal tyre noise”.
Anyone had something similar with Pirelli or any other tyre?

thanks

No Pirelli builds a good tire. I don’t believe most people who only drive on the street could tell the difference.

For the road, the PS4S is by far the best tyre. Heating up and keeping temp very well, works in cold and wet and hot.

I really want to see the comments about tires if they have a true blind test. Like driving the tires back to back without knowing which is which,

I have both and have swapped them a few times. I would be able to tell just by the noise level. The Michelins are much quieter.

Of the stock tires that come on a touring, is there any consensus which brand would give the most compliant ride? Or are they all similar enough that it won’t make much of a difference?

Pirelli most comfy, but lowering pressure to the “Performance” pressures in Owners Manual makes a bigger difference (5 psi lower than what it says on door jamb)

Pirelli hands down.
I currently run 29/31 cold and am very happy!

Strong vote for PS4S here for Touring daily or 100% street.
