I think they’re fine, but they wear to quickly. On the street I don’t see them having any advantage over vanilla P Zeros.
My favorites are plain old garden variety Sport 4s. Predictable and pretty good all-arounders.

Pictures show my build coming with Goodyears. We’ll see what that’s all about. . . But I have to admit that I was disappointed. Someone said they are made by Dunlop?

 

Goodyear and Dunlop are brands within the same parent company and the new Goodyears seem to be re-branded Maxx Race2 tires. They are made in Germany.

A change in marketing philosophy that has resulted in them now being the cheapest OEM option (was the most expensive in 991.2 generation).

My car came with the GYs. They have been doing excellent!! On my second set and third will be going on in a couple of weeks. No complaints at all with them.

If you don’t want them, I’m a buyer!!

 

Ill probably switch to MPS4S when mine arrives. I’ve heard they are becoming hard to acquire, though.

 

That is an interesting tidbit. My 991.2 GT3 came with the Maxx 2s and I have been very impressed with their durability and longevity. Tire noise? What tire noise? I never think about the sound of the tires when driving my car. These tires have proven far more robust than the P Zeros on my GTS. I can't speak for track use but I have almost 18,000 miles on my Touring and I am on my second pair of wheels.

 

Are the ps4 homologated for the 992 gt3? They weren't for the 991 and porsche always told me can be a problem with insurance company in case accident

And in Europe where I am, they are in stock too. Seem like Michelin has caught up. Even the elusive 305/35R20 MPS4S many of us like on our Lusso is back.

 

If you are not planning to track the car, stick with the Pirelli’s corsa tires. While the cup2 tires are amazing on track, they seem to cause the car to follow grooves on some of the less than ideal backroads and result in more nervous steering and less compliant ride on bad roads. The Pirelli tires are much better suited for the road and especially bad roads. Just my observations during the first 800 miles with my car and while experimenting with 3 sets of different tires. Hope this helps.

 

What tires have you compared and how would you rank them for road use?

 

At delivery my touring will have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - having them switched out before it’s sent for ppf.

 

Still trying to figure out if these are homologated and approved on the GT3. As mentioned in another post, having an insurance claim denied (or worse if there happens to be a personal injury involved) would be a problem if they weren't and something happened.

 

This is a new one for me - I’ve never heard of an insurance claim being denied based on tire choice (unless you’re talking about a guy in a lifted F250 with 36” wheels). Is that a real thing?

no other tires else than cup 2 were accepted so never risked
