Order the smoking package or not at all if you were in the order process now?

I wouldn’t order the smoking tray/cup. It’s of really no use.

 

Looks similar to the 991.2 ashtray without a cover. Is that the OEM for the 992 without the smoking package?

I believe so.

As delivered with the smoking package, the car had the cup holder thing installed with the "smoking cup" thing set in the cup holder.
The cup holder is removable. The car comes with a separate insert (as shown) that plugs in the place of the cup holder.
I think the smoking package simply gives you the "smoking cup" add-on thing.

 

Here is what the insert looks like and what the receptacle looks like:





It’s just press fit in.

 

Mine came with the cup holder installed and the bin in a bag. Did not get smoking package. Easily interchangeable.
I have a PDK and I like coffee so cup holder is staying in

 

Haha perfect to keep the trusty DSLR secured when you need to catch up to the pack on the smokies roads. :-)

 

I've checked to out again and it really is ideal for the Leica Q2 that I carry around. So if one specs the "Leica Q package" you also get a Porsche design memory card container with flappy lid FREE!

 

Agree. Who the hell was so daft as to place the cup holder in a way so that you can't properly change gear if you have a cup of coffee in the car...

At least in the previous models the passenger cupholder was reachable from the drivers position. Now it's n the right side.

Just don't care for my Touring interior all that much, and there's just too many rattles.
