Default Goodyear Tires?

Anyone else get these?

I was a little surprised to not see Michelin on my car. The cup 2’s were the best tire I’ve experienced on my last GT3. Granted it never saw rain they were amazing.

I haven’t gotten the new car on track or pushed it hard at all yet so I don’t know how these tires are when pushed.

Anyone able to comment? Anyone who has experience with Michelin cup 2’s able to compare?

mine came with GY super sport R, my previous gt3(991.2) had cup2
i was disappointed as well when I saw the tires but
after 4 track events at Sebring I can say that I’m pleased with their performance,
they take longer (2 laps) to reach optimal temperature but they hold very well during entire sessions 25/30 minutes
cup 2 get greasy after 15/20 minutes , they loose performance quickly after that
big question is how long they will last

Thank you, this is the sort of feedback I was looking for. I was worried they weren’t as good as the cup 2’s and that I’d have to make plans to swap them. Seems that won’t be necessary.

I have had a great experience with the Goodyear tires so far. They may be a little quicker too early to tell. Also not sure how long they will last. I liked so much I have new set in the garage waiting.

Haven’t thrashed them in the track but I am quite happy with the pirelli that came on my car. I thought I’d be throwing them in the trash but they are much better than expected.

Awesome. My home track is spring mountain, but I spend a lot of time in NorCal at thunder hill. I’ve been to laguna seca but not in the porsches. Would be nice to go back.

Glad to hear. Mine came with the Corsa's too. Had the same thought, change them out before the first track event and keep them as road tires. I'm giving them a go in May (in storage now) 😕

Pretty sure new Goodyear is same tire as the Dunlop RaceMaxx2 that was OEM on 991.2 (same parent company with new branding strategy) - if so, they should be slightly faster and last slightly longer than Cup2 (though most thought Cups had subjectively better steering feel). In the 991 generation, the Dunlops cost more than Cups, but the Goodyears now cost less than Cups (seems like a good buy, imo).

Mine came with cup 2, switched to Goodyear for longer lasting track use with so fat no noticeable difference in lap times.

id try your cup 2 R next to see if there are noticeable track time improvements, however that would limit my flexibility. Overall I prefer the Goodyears so far.

Got my 992 GT3 Touring with GY F1 Supersport R, pretty good in dry conditions (roads and tracks)
But undrivable in wet conditions, far worse than the Cup 2!

You may want to rather burn them off at the track. I went through two sets on 991 GT3 when Cup2 were in short supply, and they were slightly faster than cup2 under optimal conditions and felt better (more progressive and predictable slide) with the only gripe being too easy to overheat - they do not go slippery when hot like cup2s but keep gripping fine until they fail and blister. But just being careful about temperature solves that. But on the road, they were wearing out much faster than cup2s.

My RS appears to have Goodyears. All I have is a photo from the dealer, I haven't seen it in person yet. I don't even know which Goodyear it has.

It’s these (many prefer these to Cup2):
