And unnecessarily complicated on the 720s. I think it’s just a button on 765LT.
It's a pain in the butt on 765LT - takes forever and only works with wheels straight for some strange reason.
Back on the topic - the ducts attached to control arms is nothing new. Even Turbo has that. Usually it's not a problem because when a wheel goes over a bump, the wheel goes up, and so does the duct that's attached to the control arm.
As for the rear diffuser - I was worried about that when I saw it. Does it crack or just scratch? Scratching is nothing, IMO - you can just keep driving. Eventually, it will conform to your driving environment and stop scraping.
It's not as simple with the front. Yes, the front lip cover is cheap and easily replaceable, but it sits on the splitter that's part of the bumper, so if it catches on something rather than just dragging over it, it gets expensive. When my 991 GT3 lip caught onto dirt and ripped off the splitter under it, the entire bumper needed to be replaced, and it was something like $14K after paint and clear bra reapplication... So FAL is worth it.

So you had FAL, it was basically useless and still had $14k worth of damage? Doesn’t sound like FAL helped to avoid anything and proves point, it’s not a must have at all.
I think FAL is still useful, but it is more challenging to use. You can't just press the button and expect to clear obstacles like the 991. Now you have to raise and lower the nose (and by extension, the tail in opposite) as you clear obstacles (otherwise you may clear the nose and scrape the tail).

Wow, interesting logic. Drunk posting?
The point is the front lip cover is replaceable and cheap, but that can give a false sense of comfort because it sits on top of the lower part of the integrated bumper. So if the lip does not glide over something but catches on it, the whole bumper cracks and you have to buy a new one, which is surprisingly expensive.
How does it say anything about FAL being useless? If anything, it is closer to the opposite - the lip is less likely to catch on to something if the front is higher.
How me losing a bumper from hitting some dirt with the splitter (while driving on Laguna Seca) is even related to how effective FAL is? It illustrates how that cheap black splitter guard grabbing onto something can cost a lot more than it seems.

How can it be more challenging to use, you can save lift locations, now you do nothing!

His point was now you have to press to go back down to avoid scraping the rear where as previously you could let the car automatically go down on its own.

Because if you do that you’ll tear up the rear diffuser. You have to lift or lower the lift button as you’re half way over certain obstacles now (like driveways) to prevent grounding the rear. I turned off the GPS function for this reason.
Well, wish I had seen this thread before this happened
I'm currently house shopping and found a house I liked—but was really unsure about the steepness of the driveway. Took the car over today to evaluate. Front cleared no problem and I thought I was all clear when I heard a giant SCRAPE from the back. Wasn't expecting that! Diffuser fin is pretty scraped up, but no big deal. I did have FAL engaged, so I'm now wondering if I could've cleared it with FAL off...
