USA GT3 Allocations Dropped!

#34
01/21 - Start production
02/11 - Production completed / Ready for Transport / In transit to Emden
02/18 - Arrival at Emden
03/11 - On vessel
04/08 - Arrive at port / In transit to dealership
Yours is a 1 week build compared to my 3 week build. I have just a couple (easy) CXX items, but seems like you do as well so not sure why the disparity.

If you don't mind me asking, are these build dates borne from yesterday's allocations or from previous rounds?

The allocations we got are for all the remaining MY 2022's and they go all the way out to August before doing any 2023s. I texted our guy saying I'm happy to be a racer as it means I have fireproof underwear and that should save me from the angry clients who won't be getting cars for at least another year. From my perspective (including the cars we have being built this year as 2022s) this is under what I'd hoped they'd be building by 33-40%. It seems very light, but gauging the accompanied production on other 911s and sports cars...not likely changing to a 'normal' schedule for a long time. Hopefully by the time the GT3RS comes out they have resolved their chip issues.
Got friends in the car industry and they told me everyone is doing the same than in other industries : redesigning circuit boards with parts they think they can source. There are some parts from ST, Texas Instruments and others that we know for sure there will not be allocation for next year.
The resume is the crisis is going to continue next year for sure.
If you ask me, i think prices are going to keep raising (ST, XILINX and others already confirmed a 10% raise for next year) cause all the old stock is gone and part of the new produced stock is being hoarded by chip dealers to raise prices. So car prices will continue raising too.
Terrible situation for next year for sure

So am I reading this right and the last round of GT3 allocations this year dropped? My dealership only got 1 GT3 so far this year and I'm up next so praying for 1 more to come through lol. Just trying to figure out if it's over already or if they are still distributing and maybe still a chance. I know everyone is in the same boat here but damn that would make my year if I got the call. Thanks for all the extra info that you guys share with everything. It helps keep me semi-sane haha.

I'm not in the know enough to confirm whether yesterday's allocations were the last round for 22MY, but CJ is as good a source as you can get and that is what he said.
Meanwhile half the dealers in the SE aren't honoring their lists. Friends of mine who never got on any list are getting calls from dealers hoarding their allocations, calling every person in their system to see of they'll bite at huge ADMs An earnest customer could have walked into a dealership ten years ago and got first on the list and the moment that become real the dealer will call a stranger to sell that spot to anyone who will pay for it. Heck my local P dealer called my neighbor and said to them they will give them their one touring allocation if he gives them back his new 992 TTS at sticker and he adds $100k on top of it. If you're keeping track that nets about $350k for a Touring, and he's one of their customers that's bought multiple cars from them for the last twenty years ... meanwhile they are shopping that car out while they have people that have been on their list for years.
I get and am all for capitalism. What I can't stand is blatant deception. So if you're going to be that way just be upfront about it and own it, don't raise peoples' hope by having fake lists. Just put every allocation up for auction and let Darwin sort it out.
But I digress ...
I'm not suggesting your dealer is like that, hopefully he'll get you an allocation sooner rather than later ... I've never met you but you seem like the sort of person that would appreciate it.

There are a few, but the great thing about businesses that 'get it' is that they understand that having a long term approach means that nice has nothing to do with it. In said long term, doing what seems like the right thing from the customer's pov also results in more revenue for the dealer and everybody wins.
The reality is that the car business construct is geared myopically around short term numbers, it is also a high employee turnover business, so there's no incentive for the GSM du jour to have a long term view. He/she is hyper focused on monthly/quarterly/yearly numbers and has no interest is whether selling to someone a high demand car at msrp today may yield exponential positive results in the long run, because they won't be there to benefit from that long term relationship. It's much like asking an NFL coach to develop young talent at the expense of short term loses when he's fighting for his job. There are very few dealerships that have the culture and discipline to stick to that long term vision when there's so much extra money to be made in the short term as these days. Not to mention that you'd be amazed how few dollars it takes for a rich person to scorch the earth and flip that car, not to mention all the speculators. It's happened so often, exacerbated by the current supply situation, that many long time msrp dealers have said no more, I'm not in the business of enriching my customers.
Anyway, it is what it is and I honestly get the game and I don't even object to it, I'm just describing it ... every business is entitled to make their own pricing decisions and benefit or suffer from the short/long term consequences of said decisions.
The only thing I take exception to is the duplicity and pretense of virtue. Just stop it already with lists if you have no intention of honoring them. In the days of the internet everyone finds out what you're doing anyway so it makes you look even worse as a dealer to fake it than to be brutally honest.
