I was on a track day yesterday and a GT4 RS owner told me that in order to get the 8L of oil out you need to open an internal valve and this can be done only using Porsche diagnostic tool, so only dealers can do this.
Currently i have in my engine 4L of LiquiMoly and 4 of OEM Mobile 1 ) will go in like two weeks to do a service at Porsche and will see how much oil will they invoice me.

I have to agree without more info. I know it’s common for dealers to charge for 8 quarts on an oil change (even if it only requires 4).

Finally going to do my first 992 3RS oil change this weekend (assuming my oil filter and plugs get here in time). I am assuming no differences to the normal 992 GT3 oil change. 1 Plastic plug, 1 metal plug, expect 4-4.1L to come out, whip out my autel to reset and move on with life??

I think that is right. Same engine with only differences in cam parts. Can you share what Autel you are using to reset the oil light? I have a icarsoft 3.0 which doesn't work on my 992 GT3.

I also had an iCarsoft 3 that worked well on my 981 gt4, 991.2 gt3, and my g1 macan. I still have it for those but as you know it won't work on the new stuff. I have since purchased this android based unit that works pretty well. I have used it on my mercedes sprinter van and my 971.2 Panamera GTS ST. I have yet to use it on my 992 3RS but I'm confident it will work just fine. I've seen others who have said it works.

It often goes on sale for $80-100 off so don't buy it at near 480 if you can avoid it.

Thank you! I just called Autel and told them what car I had and they told me to get the MS 909 ($2400) or MS 906 Pro ($1400). Geesh. I just want to reset the oil light.

Well if you want to hold off a few more days I can let you know for sure if it works but others have said it does on the 992 GT3. I haven't seen anything on the 3RS yet.

I have an 808S – TS I just upgraded the software and it now reads over revs as well as resetting the maintenance reminders.
The old software did reset the Reminders but you couldn’t get over revs.

There are so many different Autel models that it is very confusing. Amazon has the TS and it's over $100 more so I am still not sure if the 808S works.

I know when I was buying it I was so confused.
I didn’t know really what I bought.
I had to look and see the model number was.
I think there’s a good chance that any of the 808 probably will work.
But don’t bet your life on it

2024 model year GT3s need a newer PIWIS, I’m wondering if the scan tools that work with 22/23 MY will continue to work.

Well I'm currently under my GT3 RS and there's no plastic plug to be found. And I ended up getting an oil filter kit directly at the dealer and they only gave me a single plug with crush washer.

Also I'm not crazy this is the one I'm supposed to pull along with the perpendicular one with the tight fitment correct?
