I can confirm that the filling capacity for an oil service with new filter is a surprisingly low-low 4.1 liters. I had my oil change done yesterday at the dealership. Brought in 10 liters of Liqui Moly #4110. Came home with 1 full jug.

Was charged $303. My 2022 oil change will be covered under the prepaid maintenance that comes with every USA car.

Torque specs already listed by Grant are correct.

I have seen a Workshop Manual description where it says 8.1 L total capacity, but only 4.1 L needed for oil and filter change. That means 4L stays in the motor. I wonder if there's no way to get this out?

By the way, a friend from Sweden had his oil changed, was charged for only 4.1L of new oil, but his oil level was too low to read on the gauge when he received it back. This made me think the Manual had a typo and the real change volume was 7.1L

Strange situation. I wonder if Porsche is trying to create less waste products by only changing half the oil on each oil change??

There is no way its 4.1 liters. Something must be wrong?

It's correct. I've seen the workshop pages, and emailed with the dealership this morning. My car is properly filled. I brought in 10 liters. Came home with 5.

Good thing I did an early oil change (1,150 miles) and plan to do them every 4-5,000 miles hereafter.

I’ve been sitting on this info, before I could confirm - seemed wrong to me:

Where does the other 4L stay when changing??

Wow. If you can't get 1/2 the oil out of the engine during an oil change, I am surprised that Porsche didn't increase the oil change frequency. BTW - Is it still 10k miles or annually?

If the motivation is to create less waste, then I'm not surprised they didn’t increase change frequency…

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

1) Change your factory fill oil ASAP, around 1,000 miles, after brake-in period
2) Change your oil yearly on low mileage cars
3) Change your oil every 4-5,000 miles. Don't wait till 10K miles

Do you really think there is no way to drain the rest of the oil? Do you suspect a check valve or something that won't release all the oil? I can imagine just getting 4.1L out if the instructions said to just drain the tank, but they recommend draining the sump and removing the filter as well (this releases ~7L on the 991.2)...

I wonder if removing the larger drain plug with 10mm hex (recommended to remove on 991.2 but not 992) would release more oil (I am not recommending this - just brainstorming)?

by the way, in Europe it was 2 years and 20,000 miles on the previous generation 911s (not sure about GT3s though), so 10K miles and 1 year was just an American thing because Americans like changing oil like it's 1960s. But replacing just half of oil at a time seems nuts.
Edit: I thought I was posting in 992 Turbo forum. I do not know if ROW 2-year oil change interval applies to GT3.

Especially when you are trying to use a new brand of oil (you end up with half and half...)

And keep an eye on your invoice when they charge you for 8 liters.

Unless they give you 4 liters in a to-go bag?

I think there is something wrong here. Porsche doesn't make many mistakes on the engineering (or marketing) front. We all know oil degrades over time. I also believe that Porsche is way too conservative on oil change frequency with synthetic oil and modern high tolerance engine components. (Sorry Lexvan.... and I know we have had this debate before in the 991 forum......I agree with Max above). But only changing half the oil at a time doesn't make sense at all either. Even if the objective is to reduce waste, we have to be able to replace degraded oil.
